    My Trip Report

    Part two

    December 22

Today I was up at 7.00AM and after a slice of cheesecake I went downstairs to take a workout in the Spa.
I did not felt OK already with the after effects of yesterday evening, but anyway I did finish my 1 hour run.
After a shower and some fruit I felt a lott better and went upstairs again to my wife.
She by then was also ready , and we decided to go to Terribles for breakfast, we were never been there and wanted to check the casino out.

We had their great Brunch/champagne buffet. It was good, but I do like buffets a lott.Again no cheesecake which was dissapointing to say the least.

After some waiting we get our slotclubcards and we got a shirt and a hat.Yippyy.!!!!

We did gamble for about an hour on the 5 cents slots but played even.

Sign up for their slotclub and you get a heap of coupons they will get you feeded until the end of next year.
After our TERRIBLE time we took the car and drove upto the mountain to check out the ski area and the snow.
It was extremely busy this Sunday and we were not able to park the car anywere, so we decided to come back later in the week.
We did a little hike on 5000 feet high in the snow, which gave us a good appetite, so we headed back to the Orleans for our comped dinner buffet.

Again no Cheesecake but dinner was good.

In the evening we just sat in their lounge before the sportsbook and did some relaxing and talking and people watching, I did really some cocktail waitress watching.

We went to bed early and did some adult stuff.

    December 23

Again I was up at 7.00 AM , we were run out of cheesecake so I went downstairs to get a few donuts and some coffee.
Again I did a morning run in the SPA.

After this we went to the Excalibur, I had a coupon for a coupon book and was curious what was in it.
Well it was nothing , we just threw it away.

Took the car again and drove to the Hilton, I wanted to do the Star Trek experience again.
Well if you do the ride for the 5th time it starts to get predictable.

We also had a two for one for the buffet , so we tried that, No cheesecake again .
I thought that the Lunch buffet was bit dissapointing.

After lunch we stayed here for what we said a little gambling. It turned out that we stayed almost the rest of the day and evening.Time went buy so quickly when you having fun.
We both had a great time playing roulette, I never did play it before as did my wife.
But we were succesful at the roulette table.

After our 4 hour roulette session they comped us a dinner in their incredible buffet again.
We did not win anything but did not lose anything.

The reason we played roulette was that we had USD 10,00 in gaming money from the American Casino Guide and you had to put it on together with your own USD 10,00 on any even or odd bet.

We did win did win this bet, so we stayed again for another bet, which we won again.

And before we knew it we played for 4 hours and ended with nothing but the comped dinner.
We should have stopped when we were up USD 250,00.

After dinner we returned to the Orleans again and packed our things together because tomorrow we had to change Hotels we are going to the Paris on the Strip.

    December 24

This was the first day I finally slept a little longer I was awake at 9.00 AM and was in no hurry to leave the Hotel.I liked the Orleans a lott, it is certainly recommended for our next trip.
After checking out we got to speak to a host and he assured us when we ever came back to Las Vegas we should call him or his department and we would get a room for a few nights.

Today I bought again a cheesecake at Denny`s.

This day we also went for a drive upto Red Rock Canyon, and took a hike from about 2 hours.
I love the scenery up there.

We arrived at 2.30PM at the Paris and checked in, since we booked a P room on the 29 th level we could not get in it yet, so we had to kill some time in their casino.

Which was almost impossible, the casino was pakked it was totally full with people, the line for the Buffet was extremely long as was the same for all the restaurants.

So I went back to the front desk and asked them since I was a Waiting after three o clock that they should arrange for a line pass for the buffet, I was amazed that we get it.

Still with the pass we had to wait for about 1 hour before we got in.
This buffet was by far the best we had upto now on this trip.

During our dinner we were spoken to from a couple out of New York who were wondering were we from they overheard us talking to each other. The girl had geussed it right that we wre from Holland the guy thought we were from germany.Which is in our opinion offensive.

We had a nice talk together with them we almost spend 2 hours together eating and talking. The girl had worked in the Hilton nearby the Twin tower and experienced the attack from up close, I was in awe after this talk.

Well after this we went back to the front desk to get our room keycards. And upto the 29th floor.
    The room was great,great,great.
We had a perfect view of the tower, and the fountains of the Bellagio as a overlook of the strip.I never had a view like this.

The room itself was spacious with a hugh bed and a sofa and two sidechairs a desk with two chairs, the bathroom was also hugh.

We had arranged for a coffeetable on our room which was pretty convieniant.

Wy I do not know , but we were also comped two showtickets for Andre Philip Gaugnon the impressionist.
So we attended the show the same evening .This guy it good, I had the laugh of my life.If you ever want somebody singing like Axel Rose a song from Julio Iglegias and dancing at the same time as LALA from the teletubbies watch this guy.He did over 300 different impressions even from people straight out of the audience.
    Great show.
Normal ticket prices are USD 60,00 / person. We got them for free but I would easely pay the money for it.

After the show we were hungry again, but lines in this Hotel are insane. Why would anybody wait for two hours to get inside a restaurant.

We took the car and drove to the Orleans agian(I know) and had a nice chinees dinner in the Courtyard night restuarant, and we did not wait for one second.

We were back in the Paris at 3.00 AM in the morning and went straight to bed.

    Part three will follow shortly.

    Schirkai,

Maybe it was meant as some kind of joke.
And even if people from Germany should read it, then they would understand it.

So don`t be upset about it.

    HI!!
The danes, swedes, norwegians etc.react the same way as jan if they are mistaken for Germans. It has to do with history and the present day german
better then thou way af behaving. It makes them unpopular and who wants to be mistaken for being a member of a unpopular bunch. As for germans being
offended well i guess that is too bad.

Okay.. now I'm mad. [IMG] Seriously.. knock this off. If you can't play nice, don't play at all or whatever that saying is.

I didn't think the comment was a bad one. I've said things about cigar or cigarette smoke that probably pissed of a smoker or two, but it's just my opinion. The smoke bothered me, if it bothers you, you'll understand. If it doesn't bother you, well good for you, enjoy the ElCortez! Some people here complain about things that I do, but I just shrug it off and figure that they probably do something that bugs me too. It's one of the prices we have to pay for not living on our own private island.

I don't want this board to have to become politically correct because it's a VEGAS BOARD for goodness sake! If he was offended by being considered German, then he was offended.. bottom line.. end of discussion. If I was offended by some guy being wasted on Fremont Street, I was offended. If you were wasted on Fremont Street, all the power to you. Hope you got back to your hotel with out barfing on your shoes.

Different strokes for different folks. I'm just pissed off that this trip report isn't allowed to be a trip report! [IMG]

Sonya, sorry, didnt mean for you to get upset, I actually found the trip report entertaining and said so in my original post. Good point about the PC issue, no need for that on a Vegas board.

[I edited something I didn't think was necessary or appropriate. Congratulations.. this is the first post I've ever had to edit. Thanks for making my day. -Sonya]
