What constitutes "nearby"? When I stayed at the Trop, my favorite place to have breakfast was La Salsa Cantina, which is just past MGM. I think it was $3.99 and included eggs, fried potatoes, bacon or sausage, and a tortilla.

I'm sure Hooters next door would have a breakfast special. We had their prime rib special last time and it was good. Nice room, good service.

Does Tropicana have an on-site casino-operated coffee shop? If so, most of the remaining ones are very good.

Beach Cafe at Tropicana is very good but doesn't meet the OP's "cheap" criteria. La Salsa Cantina would be a good option.

The $3.99 special at La Salsa Cantina was great for the money but it's about as close to the Tropicana as the South Point. Is there somewhere comparable in the MGM? I have some work friends staying at MGM in April and would love to give them a breakfast tip....

I didn't realize La Salsa Cantina had a location in the Showcase Mall!... of course that would be great for the Trop guests as well as MGM. I have to say, I really did like the $3.99 breakfast there (Miracle Mile location).... it was the definition of "cheap-and-cheerful".... not too much food, not too little. A great start to the day (leaving some room for burgers and buffets) and a great bloody mary as well.

Thank you all, La Salsa Cantina is EXACTLY the type of place I was looking for close by for breakfast! Found it on google street maps, so I know right where it is located.

Trop has scotch. I don't see the need to travel for eggs when scotch is right there. I love scotch. Scotch Scotch Scotch!
