Officers Jim Reed & Pete Malloy. Unfortunately, they never had the opportunity to work with Joe Friday & Bill Gannon.

That was one of my faves when I was very young too! "A bumble bee, or a tree? It's meeeeeee!" :)

And then there was Crabby Appleton and Isotope Feeny, The Nuclear Meanie. I can still recall Crabby's theme song by memory ...

"My name is Crabby Appleton, and I am simply awful,
It titillates my funny bone to do something unlawful.
I'm fond of gloom, impending doom, I think good deeds are sappy,
I laugh with glee, it pleases me, when everyone's unhappy!"

(Sung in the very appropriate Aeolian minor, of course.)

When I think back, it was quite the vocabulary-builder for someone of preschool age. I remember asking my mom what "impending" meant. I know that I was first exposed to "nuclear/nucleus" in that series and learned that nucleus ~= core from the Captain's intro.

Dr. Galen Adams. He and Kitty were also friends with Matt Dillon, Chester Good, Quint Asper, Festus Hagen, Newly O'Brien, Ma Smally, Sam the bartender, Moss the livery man and Burke the freight operator. I think I've seen far too many reruns during the pandemic!

Very good grasshopper. The episode it was revealed, guest star was Vera Miles. It was the only time his name was mentioned. You forgot Toobill(Frank DeKova) who was Matt's go to for info out on the prarie.... He went on to play Chief Wild Eagle on F Troop which had a great cast....
On another note, how about Fuji from McHale's Navy.... They'd never get away with that today.
It also had a Gruber....the late Carl Ballentine.
I could go on all day...... try the veal
