Got an offer from my host to fly charter plane Boston to Lake Tahoe for 3 nights at harrahs. I think I'm going to take her up on the offer sometime this summer. Has anyone taken similar trips? What's the trip like? Is the charter just a regular flight? How is harrahs and Lake Tahoe in general? I've always wanted to go there. Thanks for any answers and help!

We have taken one of these junkets to Reno (never get free ones to Tahoe). Don't hesitate. Tahoe is beautiful and Harrah's Tahoe is very nice. We have been going there at least 2x/year for many years and there's no place I'd rather be. Plan to rent a car for a day or two to experience all that the lake has to offer. If you're there on a weekend, Harrah's has a yacht that will take you on a boat trip around the lake.
Food offerings are not that great, especially during the week. Some of the restaurants are only open on weekends.
You will fly into Reno and be shuttled to the lake about an hour from Reno.
What else would you like to know?

I get these all the time. I can't figure out why CET will fly me for free to N.O., Reno or Tahoe but not Vegas. Doesn't all my gambling loss end up on the same bottom line?

If you do go to Tahoe I have a couple of suggestions... if you have a car... drive a few miles west to South Lake Brewing Company, great beer, low key atmosphere, but no food. Burger lounge is really good. Breakfast/lunch try Ernie's or Bert's on Hwy 50, Cali side.

I have not gone on that kind of junket, but I have been to Tahoe a lot of times which is a slice of heaven. One piece of advice is to opt for booking Harrah's Lake Tahoe over Harvey's Lake Tahoe. Both are CET properties but ALL rooms at Harrah's have two bathrooms . . . because tha'ts what Bill Harrah wanted.

We have taken the flight out of Detroit and loved it. We were along with 2 other couples picked up with a limo at Reno Airport and taken up the mountain great ride and Shell and I were like tour guides going up as it was our 3rd time being there. We flew on United and I upgrade to econ comfort with no problem. I think now they are using SWA now. The one con we had was it was 5 nights, that is too much gaming but if you don't care about ADT then take one day to drive around the lake, especially Emerald Bay. Now 3 nights might be too little but it is so worth going. Tahoe is our 7* retreat every year and our favorite CET area.
