    Hey Everyone,

I am going to Vegas in June from the 14-18. My flight isn't getting in until 10:30 - 11 on the 14th.

I am booked under a $225 freeplay offer, which is similar to what I've had the last few trips. The offer was a generic June offer with dates from the 1st to the 30th. I've ALWAYS picked up my freeplay at the cage just after checking in.

I was originally booked from the 15-20 under my host Hunter, but I needed to change the dates to 14-19 (I'm on the redeye home on the 18th so I book the night of the 18th as well). Because Hunter is no longer with CET, I had to call the host at the Linq to change my reservation, which she did no problem.

However, when she checked my offer, she said the freeplay was only good on the 14th and the 19th, and since the Total Rewards desk would be closed by the time I got in on the 14th, I would have to get it on the 19th, which I won't even be in town for. She said I couldn't pick it up on the 15,16,17 or 18.

Now, I don't see this actually being a problem, because even though she told me I would have to get my freeplay at the TR desk, in my last 4-5 trips, I've ALWAYS gone to the cage for my freeplay and I've always gone on the day I checked in. Also, the offer states June 1-30 on my end, so I'm not sure why on her end, the Thursday to Sunday is excluded (it's EDC weekend but that should cancel out my freeplay).

Just wondering if anyone has ever heard of a) getting freeplay at the TR desk or b) having a month-long freeplay offer limited like she described.

The only thing I can think of is this:

There are certain dates where the room price is high enough so that the TR website availability calendar does not show "Offer Available." I have the same $225 Freeplay offer available for July and this is what the PH calendar looks like if I have that offer loaded:

As far as picking up freeplay, I've never picked it up at the TR desk. Always at the cage (Caesars and PH). I suppose it could be different at other properties, but I don't know why.

Mine has been cage at PH, Caesars, The Linq and Harrahs. Can't imagine that has changed since January.

    Yes to both.

1)I always get my freeplay at the TR desk
2)CET will often black out FP days that are around special events. For example no Free Play offers during the GGWU ballroom events in November and December.

    Scheduled, but cancellable
Well, Canada and Massachusetts are closed, back to Lake Tahoe

Very interesting you get it at the TR desk! I've always got mine at the cage without any issues. In fact, I've gone to the TR desk who tell me to go to the cage.

Regardless, since I'm there on the 14, I don't see them rejecting my freeplay if I can't get it until the 15th because they close the TR desk before I get there. What difference does it make if I use the FP on the Wednesday or the Thursday?

I remember this same issue being discussed in another thread. It's been hit and miss the last couple years for me. Sometimes I had to go to the TR desk, sometimes I was able to go to the cage. And it would be different sometimes at the same place. I always start off and go to the cage first though. During last summer till now, I have always gotten it at the cage without issues. I didn't question why I didn't have to go to TR desk anymore. It's kind of silly and waste of time for the client/player and the casino staff really.

I recently stayed at the Linq around beginning of the year for the first time and I wasn't getting in till 10pm so i figured I call Linq and asked what their procedures for FP was and what time their TR desk closed. And the rep stated that it closed at 11pm and that depending on the FP, I didn't need to go to the TR desk and can just go straight to the cage. So when I arrived I went to check in my room and then to the cage to redeem my FP. For some reason the rep said she couldn't give me the FP without a mangers approval due to the amount? It was $1250, weird as I never had a problem before. Maybe it's just the Linq? So when the manager came I figure I'd ask what the ACTUAL procedures were in redeeming FP. I asked why is it that some places/people/type of FP needs to be done at the TR desk first and some you can just go to the cage to do it. The manager stated that this SHOULDN'T be the case no more as some of the places or desks may have an older system which did not allow or have access to the player's account in reference to FP. So the cage reps would have to direct the players to the TR desk where they had access to their FP offers. FWIW, I guess that makes sense.

All of this may be a moot point...just got an email saying free play is now able to be downloaded onto machines using your play with TR app...so that would save me a trip to the desk and the cage

This is definitely not a hard and fast. The last two years I had no problem booking free play booster on the rate calendar during GGWU. It seems you have to book it really quickly when it comes out. A few of my friends were given the company line of "no free play during ggwu" from their hosts. Cet seems to be too blind to keep up with their own online calendar.
