Anyone ever actually try to use the Dubai Benefit from being Diamond at Caesars? I went to research it and it seems it must be booked 30 days in advance. I want to fly there in a week or two, was planning to come home just about the 30th day mark from now... anyone ever try to use the benefit, how was the experience, and better yet, has anyone convinced them to allow you to come sooner than 30 days out?
I don't know about the 30 days but I would still try to book it and see. I went to Dubai last year during summer and can tell you that going early in the year is way better. It was hot as balls in the summer. The experience at Caesars Dubai was great! They really treated me like luxury. I ate at the Bacchanal at a discount rate and knowing that I was Diamond they told me if I wanted anything to just ask. I wanted to see if they meant it and I asked for oysters since I saw that they use to have it on the menu but don't anymore. They whipped out oysters exclusively for me at the Bacchanal. The room I had included a full bottle of champagne which was only supposed to be two glasses of sparkling wine as mentioned on the Caesars Dubai page. Cons is that the island is a cab ride from anywhere good or else you have to walk a decent amount. It was hot and humid when I went and I can handle 100 degrees in Vegas but it's a different animal in Dubai. Lucky for you that won't be an issue around this time. I highly recommend you going. You should try to go if you have to within the 30 days but why not wait 30 days?
Because for the other 2 weeks I am there, I'll be staying at a Hyatt (or two or three) for 50 or so USD a night... before February 28th when this amazing Hyatt globalist promotion ends... I am only Hyatt Explorist because of my MLife status. And now AA Gold... they really got me on all the programs this year with the lowered requirements and matches. The goal was to return by Valentine's Day, if I don't, my psycho boyfriend will kill me (or more likely, himself). And no, I am not paying to fly him to Dubai, he was a pain in the ass enough in Puerto Vallarta last week. Ok... you asked, and I provided TMI. Given how cheap many of the hotels are in Dubai, I don't really see why they need the 30 days notice... but terms are terms.
Lot's of things aren't normal with covid and they might be more flexible now. I'd call your host if you have one. Be aware of UAE and Sharia laws if you go.
Lol the boyfriend will not be going, but my roommate will... hopefully they don't think anything funky of it! No hanky panky here, SWEAR!!! Lol.
If you go then a tip I have is get some booze from the duty free shops upon leaving the airport. This is the best opportunity to stock up on your favorite drinks at a decent price. Make sure to keep it hidden out of sigh as good as possible. Just be respectful and not get too hammered because they take public intoxication seriously and dispose the bottles from your room into the trash instead of laying alcohol all over a room as we are accustom to in Vegas (I'm guilty of this sometimes) lol but I recommend this to have some nice drinks in the room of your hotel to unwind. It is a beautiful beach town after all!
So not this? I would say benefits of having an OCD boyfriend but then I remembered I did this organizing to keep him sane...
I went to Dubai last year and don’t worry about the boyfriend or whatever. They love money more than their customs so long as you’re not opening flaunting anything, you’ll be fine. They need the US and European dollar to stay afloat as they are really just a huge Ponzi scheme so they’re not going to bother you one bit. I was really surprised at how tolerant they were with everything. Women were out walking with low-cut tops and skirts.....never bothered. People openly intoxicated in public....never bothered. Those who say they are strict there are gravely mistaken and exaggerated. Go and have a good time. I enjoyed it!
If you do go to Dubai and in particular use the CET offer, please let us know how it works out. At least you cannot be expected to gamble during your stay as I heard there is no casino at the CET.
Dubai is easy going as far as it goes in the Middle East. I wouldn't be too worried, not sure why everyone else is throwing out all these concerns. Never been to the Caesars but I've stayed in Dubai at least 5 times and I've had a blast. I don't get sloppy drunk so never really worried about those things. Please let us know how it goes!
Dubai is the most tolerant in the area and totally fine if you’re behaving decently. What you can get away with there, you couldn’t say in Saudi Arabia. I had a coworker thrown in Saudi jail for a month for disrespecting someone they shouldn’t have before the company and embassy could get him out. Then he had 24 hours to leave the country.
I couldn't have a good time knowing in the back of my mind that I could get thrown in jail for infractions that I didn't even know about. No gambling, no drinking to me is no vacation.
Yes, countries that are tolerant on some things have very strict policies on things you would never think about. Thailand is known as a party location, but if you step on money you could spend 15 years in prison as you just stepped on the King's face.
I am a Libertarian Conservative who hates rules... but when I visited Singapore I LOVED IT. The rules they do have are truly (mostly) for the common good. The sidewalks aren't covered in gum, no one blocks the subway doors when they open to rush in, etc... I am sure the Dubai rules are slightly more than I am used to, but, if you choose to go there, gotta follow what they ask, otherwise don't go. I am not worried. I'll definitely update you guys if I indeed am granted my two days at the Caesar's there.
I can't speak to the Caesar's Dubai in particular, but in general I found the UAE to not be as restrictive as I expected. In the "Western Style" resorts there was plenty of drinking and revealing swimwear. I wouldn't get sloppy drunk, but if you aren't leaving the resort I wouldn't worry at all. And no public displays of affection - regardless of the gender makeup of the couple it's taboo at best, criminal at worst. Off-resort, I'd be a bit more cautious. I made sure to always be wearing modest clothing (long sleeves, no cleavage, loose), but out shopping I saw women in everything from Vegas club-style dresses to abayas and didn't see anyone seem to be bothered regardless of what they were wearing. As anywhere, YMMV.
Good news, bad news. They let me book with less than 30 days notice and sent me a confirmation, and UPGRADED me to the Palace from the resort, props Dubai Caesars team! Bad news, I just tested positive for COVID and can't go.
Wow. Horrible news. To get all of your ducks in a row for a great time and have the rug fly out from under you (pun intended as I just couldn't help it)...sorry to hear of your plans being canceled. Wishing you an easy recuperation.
Lol, no magic carpet ride for me! Definitely a bummer, but there is SOME positive news from it I suppose... doesn't look like it's gonna kill me, I didn't infect anyone else on the way to Dubai, and when I DO go, I'll essentially be immune and may not even have to test to come back into the country. At least there's a little upside.
You will still need to test. My understanding is that even if you have had COVID and/or the vaccine, they do not know if you can still infect others so you still need to test negative to return to the USA. The CDC put out something on this a couple of weeks ago so perhaps those guidelines will change with the new administration. Hope you heal quickly.
