I have been getting free room offers online and in the mail for a couple years. I logged in a few days ago to plan the next trip, and now nothing. Not even discounts. I called to see if this was a glitch and got a run around that basically amounted to no free rooms right now anywhere.

Has anyone else had this happen? My level of play did not drop off at all on my last trip, so this is really killing my mood on the whole city. I only play at CET crappy properties because I like the free rooms and they have been the most generous in the past.

No idea what you play level is. How may tier credits have you gained in your past few visits?

CET is definitely tightening their comps. When I first started going to Vegas I stuck with mainly CET props as I always got comped as many nights as I wanted at any property. After my first couple of trips I shifted some play away from CET towards Wynn and MGM, which resulted in offers coming in from Wynn that are far superior to anything I had received from CET. I still played and stayed at CET on occasion simply because the Wynn and MGM offers were too inconsistent in terms of when I would receive them and when they would be available to use. So it was nice to know that in a worst case scenario, I could always book any rooms I needed at CET.

Looking at recent trips, and the CET calendar, I can't even get the low end properties comped at CET. Meanwhile I still get Mlife offers with F&B, FP, and comp rooms, and offers from Wynn for free rooms and FP.

Keep in mind that while I started to spread my play around after the first couple trips, I also increased my bankroll every time too. So the amount of play going to CET was pretty consistent. I play just about anything, and I'd say my average 3 day trip I finish with about 2500 tier credits. Nothing huge, but pretty solid play for a few days.

So to answer your question it's not just you. Although I fully expect comps to tighten as the Vegas economy picks back up, I think CET is moving in the other direction too far and too fast.

I understand not being able to get the Augustus Tower in CP with that play like I had anytime in the past, but to go from comps on the nicest room in the whole CET lineup, to having to pay 150 bucks for 4 nights at Harrah's is hard to stomach. Throw in the resort fee now, and the cost of most of their rooms are getting too close to MGM to stick around. Going forward I'm just going to move my play over to MGM and the Wynn and see what I can get out of them. So far their offers are better and with the additional coin-in I was allocating to CET I hope to improve those. Even paying for rooms there is better than paying for rooms at CET, as most of the MGM properties are nicer than their CET equivalent.

Mine are the same as always. Free weekdays at most lower tier properties. Others mixed in and weekends are mixed in as well.

The only change I notice is that when I go out a long ways the comps start to dry up. I can't go 8 months out and get everything comped where it was common for me to do that before.

I gain at most 1500 tier credits in a 5 day trip.

I booked in May and Nov. and will be booking August soon. I'm comped for everything. My tier is Zero and my reward credits are 471. I have looked at the TR calender in which i book, and most of my Sun-Fri hotel rooms are comped up until March of 2014. I'm a Gold card holder. I will be staying in 3 CET hotels.

So i don't know why this is happening. Although i visit all the hotels on the Strip, i only gamble and stay at CET hotels and have been for years.

If this is going to be the case for CET then we are going to stop giving them any business at all. I have been diamond for a long time and go to tunica at least once a month. Now it will be time to switch to other properties who value gambling. CET provides bad odds and now bad comps -- what do they have going for them besides location? Now that is changing as well as new casinos keep opening up.

My CET comps have actually gotten better over the last year, although my play has remained about the same .... with this exception.

I've always played nickel multi-line vp with some quarter single line thrown in. I play many hours each day and don't divide my play over multiple properties. I've always gotten SUN-Thurs comped at any prop, some weekend comps, always the lowest rooms but am upgraded at checkin. I am diamond, but only because my home casino was in STL, which is now closed.

A couple of trips ago, I started playing some penny slots just for fun. I only bet 50 cents per spin and have come away a winner many times, the bonus rounds are fun. I only play about $40/day in the pennies.

After the first trip of throwing in a little penny fun, my comps increased by leaps and bounds. Much higher level rooms, most weekends comped, freeplay, etc... The comp level went up significantly more than the small amount I play in the penny games...go figure?

I haven't played at CET at all this year because STL is closed. I decided to take a last minute trip to LV over Easter weekend, checked my offers online and booked 5 nights comped in a Flamingo Go Luxury room (could have even had Caesars but I'm at home in the Flamingo casino), $100 FP and some food credit.

Evidently, my throwing in a little penny fun increased my offers alot. I'm certainly not recommending this for everyone, but it does provide some evidence that it's not just about how much you play as WHAT you play.

I'm Platinum, have multiple offers for AC & Reno, and 3 night offers in Vegas, but my calendar shows substantial rates for even the low end casinos. I don't play much when comped in Vegas (usually Poker or BJ) because CET Vegas VP pay tables blow. Unless you are playing five coin $5, you are getting 9/5 (98.45%) at best, with 7/5 or 6/5 common. I am playing elsewhere or paying for a room before I will slip money into those machines.

The Strip has restored demand to the point where to cater to players who do not understand and/or care about the odds. This is how 6/5 JOB or 6/5 BJ flourishes.

Room occupancy rates have increased over the past few years, and with it pricing power. Vegas casinos, especially CET lower tier casinos, had plenty of rooms and they may as well fill them up and try to get their $ on the casino floor. Unless the economy takes another substantial hit, I would expect the current tightening of comps to continue. This is the new CET (and MILFe) normal.

Gamblers will need to stay and play downtown or off-strip if you want FP VP and decent comp offers.

We stay at Planet Hollywood every May for 5 nights and are always comped. This year I could only get 3 nights comped. I had a 2 night comp at MGM so I talked the wife into spending the first two nights at MGM and then move to PHO for the last three. With the adding of resort fees at CET it can't hurt to up my play at MGM.

I was going to post the same thing yesterday, as I didn't have a single good offer in vegas.

I can usually get a weekend free at a couple places...

I checked again today, still nothing...

It's weird I just got a mailer with 3 free nights, $50 in food, $100 in FP and either 2-4-1 or free show tickets... but online I have nothing.
