    My Trip Report

This time around (roughly my 20th Vegas trip) I'm going to TRY a live trip report. I feel like it would be a great way to remember it and also share with the forum since I love reading all yours! Plan would be to keep up with live updates, admittedly of mostly VP/Slot/Chip porn, and maybe some drinks. This is simply an unwinding trip that I take each year to explore Vegas, often the burbs and a hiking trip BUT this time I'm skipping that as I'm going to be drinking, watching NFL and have been itching to play poker and Bartop VP a silly amount.

If I do fail on keeping this up to date, the consolation prize is that this is also (for the next 5 days) sort of a discussion on:
a.) What I should try and see, as I currently only have Lucky Dragon on my "haven't seen" list and I am a bit torn on what, if any, adventures I'm interested in having. What's new?
b.) Where should I stay? I have 2 days on the strip (Will not be changing) but also 3 additional days where I am debating between the Strip and Downtown. I can stay downtown, and take ElCo up on an offer that includes a bit of FP and free nights for three days. OR I can take Caesars up on three free nights where I need to pay Resort fees and get nothing up-front. Thoughts? Basically DT saves me $98 and I get some FP.
Disclaimer on b.): I will be on the Strip Saturday with friends, so ElCo will require an Uber or Deuce transfer. But saving $100 in stupid CET resort fees even in principle is almost worth it.

One thing I'm iffy about is posting pictures in realtime, as I always fail at doing that seamlessly. We shall see!

From a purely selfish standpoint, I'd love to see some live reporting from ElCo, casino floor in particular. I'm headed that way next trip as I won a gift card to Seigels, and when I was there last the poker "room" was still open. Dying to take in that old skool vibe again now that I am a little more Vegas-educated. But CP sounds much more lux. Whatever you decide, try some live pics. Mine come out terrible always but they are still well received by VMB! Have fun!

Thanks! Leaning that way for sure, as I wouldn't mind watching the Sunday NFL games at ElCo or downtown. I'll have a horse in every race for this round which I'm psyched about.

Regarding downtown, particularly around ElCo; any decent liquor stores where I can get a good bottle of bourbon? I don't feel like drinking well whiskey and wouldn't mind bringing my own honestly. (I don't mind tipping for a tasty domestic beer, but to me bad whiskey is sinful)

The Boyd property gift shops have good prices, not sure what the bourbon selection will be. Fremont casino wouldn't be too far.
Looking forward to your Live TR.

Thanks! The adventure has already begun in a hard way... decided that if I'm going to eat and drink all weekend next weekend, I should "earn it". Decided to run 26.2 miles (broken up however I please) before then.

Halfway through and it's hard! But I'll feel better for it. A typical run for me is 2-4 miles three times a week, so this is tough. Started/decided last Wednesday so only 10 days to hammer through it! On treadmill now!

Good luck look on the trip looking forward to your adventure. Lucky Dragon is nice and I'd go to eat but it is small. Worth seeing though.

Thanks! How do you get food there? Is it like food court style/is it confusing? I dig all Asian food and keep hearing it's good so I'm psyched!

Can't wait to leave, just one "sleep" away as they say.

So I went to the place that had the pork buns but isn't inside the food court. So I can't really answer that. But I walked up to the register, and asked for the buns and got it, I assume the rest is the same.

    They're here!

    Live from Vegas.

First (moral) loss of the trip. Knowitall behind me on plane telling family all about Vegas, fooled me into googling one of his made up facts. Sears tower crushes the Stratosphere in height. Sorry dude.

Semi-Related Random fact from centerfieldnine: the tallest topped out building in all of NV has never been occupied; fountainbleu

    Here we go!
