Advice from Gus: To claim best spot on bed, do this, then pretend to sleep.

On the rare occasion she shares the bed so I can lie down too.

I like people names too. Minou is an exception for us, but...there's a backstory.

Jethro sits at the window judging people, growling. Somehow he knows the difference between delivery people, food especially, and just randoms walking by. We're not far from downtown, so typical city neighbourhood, houses close to the sidewalk, lots of foot traffic. And we're on a corner lot, so he can move to another window and keep judging them. He does this low growl too. It's like having a dog again. He also fetches.

...Our cat Pixel also fetches, @LolaDoggie. It began when she would grab one of my ponytail holders off the bathroom doorknob. I would try to get it back from her and she wasn’t having it. :nono: I tried to distract her by tossing one of her toys. She picked it up in her mouth and dropped it at my feet. The game was on. ;)
Nowadays, she lines the p-tail holders up in different configurations like crop circles. What a weirdo cat. I wonder how she got that way. :haha:

Pictorial evidence of her puzzling work. Ignore the dusty floor, please. Can’t be arsed to mop at the moment.

@ardee, @LolaDoggie - What is it with cats and fetching? Josie loved to fetch too. She was also quite the hunter. We would hear her in the basement making all kinds of strange noises, so of course, at first we would rush down there only to be given the "What?" look. After a while she would come up with the dead prey in her mouth, out of breath, panting, and drop it at our feet. It took us a while to figure out that she wanted praise for her "kill".

    The prey - the elusive....

Over the course of her life, I must have bought hundreds of these. My ex is probably still finding them in the house.

Pixel makes weird noises too, @JosieCat. Sometimes she sounds like she's saying "HELLO" in a cartoon chipmunk voice while carrying
a ponytail holder in her mouth.
Love those sparkle ball toys. Funny about them still being around the house.

Those sparkle balls are his favourite. Also the ones with crinkle. He walks around with them, or Bob's undies or socks and makes all kinds of growling and meowing noises. He wants us to see how much of a good hunter he is. I have no doubt he's an actual hunter if something makes the mistake of coming in the house. Our late Oscar and Jack were both hunters. It's a good thing, it's an old house and mice happen. I will buy him all the fuzzy balls in the world if it makes him happy. He had such a shitty start in life, all I want to do is make him happy.

One of my husband's employees is also a crazy cat lady. Him and Bob trade "pussy pics" all day by text. Only it's actual cats with them. Jordan is his name. Anyhow, Jordan, his all time favourite cats are fat and cross eyed. Oh my Lord he loses his mind when he sees a fat cross eyed cat. I love that guy, he's a really good person.

Our late Pia and Jack both enjoyed naps in the bathroom sink. Cool and comfortable.

Maine Coons make noises that they call trills. Paprika makes them when she is about to hit the litter box. She's like a little kid..."Mom, I gotta go". Aspen is always talking. I call her chatty catty. She'll stare you down too. She sits by her empty plate and give you a death stare.

My first cat, Sugar, loved to fetch hair bands. They would be all over the house. In the morning I would find them either in her food dish or water dish. A&P used to play with the krinkle balls but I found a few in the water dish and the color would leach out of them and turn the water pink or purple or green. It freaked me out that they could be drinking that water so I changed to the soft sparkle balls, they aren't as happy with those.

Paprika loves the tabs off of cans. I have a recycling bag behind an end table. I drink canned sparkling water and hate those tabs. Every time I would take it off and toss it toward the bag, Paprika would try to catch it. She does it with two paws, it amazes me. She catches most of them. Sometimes she just bats them away and I end up with them all over the floor. What's funny is that it has become normal to me. A friend came over and opened a can. As soon as Paprika heard the pop top she ran and perched herself on the end table waiting for the toss. My friend said "what's up with your cat?" I had to explain.
