Heading out to vegas for a week soon and will have a car for first time in a long while. Have been to most on strip casinos and downtown casinos but would like to check out as many others as possibles. Will defiantly be going downtown one day, heading out to Red Rock one day and also be heading out to Laughlin area one day. Any cool casinos that can be recommend for me to check out?
Red Rock, Green Valley Ranch are both very nice. Suncoast is a just a smidge down. Orleans, Palms, Tuscany.. We were in Palace Station for about 4 minutes. It's a smokey dirty place. Ellis Island is worth a visit. Go to The STRAT and go up the tower to the bar for a drink. No cover charge or elevator fee for that. If you want a longer ride, go down to Primm on the California border to out to Aliante to the north side of town. I hear Cannery is nice but never been there. Been to Sam's Town and Boulder Station. They are both a step above Palace Station but nothing great.
You might check out Sam's Town after dark, they have a light show in the indoor park. You'd need to get there a half an hour early to get a seat.
Green Valley Ranch is worth it since you have a car. Just take a drive down Boulder highway and stop at a few. For me, Sam's Town and Cannery would be the first 2 on that highway to stop at. The M ( far south as Vegas goes) is a beautiful casino and GREAT seafood buffet on weekends. Comparable to the nicer strip casinos but happier employees.
I love GVR. If you plan to gamble at all during your stops they have $5 tables most ot the time. Red Rock is great too. Palms, Orleans (great place for craps IMO), Southpoint.
GVR and Red Rock are good places to visit and play - I really enjoy walking around the grounds and pool at GVR. Haven't been to M yet but hear good things about it.
I forgot about M. I like that place. Never stayed there (yet) but I like it and found the employees to be above average in terms of friendliness. When I signed up for their card the guy was going on and on about how much he loved working there compared to where he was before (somewhere on the strip I think).
Take a drive to downtown Henderson. Check out the old places. Additional tip would be to go hungry and eat at the Rainbow. It's a locals secret and a great value. Good Luck! Ric at Joes
I second checking out Silverton. Definitely a unique place compared to all the other casinos out there. Also love the M and wish I stopped by there more often
A full day trip - drive the RR canyon route. Visit RR casino then head north and East around the loop to Bob Taylor's ranch house. Good food in an old school steak house. It's kind of a dive. Continue east to Aliente. There's a lot more to Vegas than the strip and downtown.
