    My Trip Report

November 8, 2014. Mrs. AlanLeroy and I had tickets to see Debbie Reynolds at South Point. During the performance, Debbie announced that would be her final performance. Her Daughter Carrie Fisher, Granddaughter (Carrie's Daughter) Billie Lourds, Son Todd Fisher and their families were all in attendance. In the grand finale, Debbie, Carrie, Billie and Todd all performed 'There's no business like show business'. I did manage this short video clip of that performance. . Let's go on with the show.

It is really sad for a mother to lose a child who died before them. People say that parents should die first and then the children.
But life is full of surprises. I feel Empathy and Sympathy for Debbie who is the mother of Carrie Fisher.

My sister saw Debbie when she had her casino in Vegas. After the show she went out to one of the lobby bars and sang. She was very approachable and a very gracious lady my sister said. So sad for the family, losing both Carrie and Debbie in such a short period.

I saw Debbie's show at her casino in the early 90's. The show was great especially when she told about her marriages and divorces. My MIL was with me and in a wheelchair and we were escorted after the show to the front of the line for a picture with Debbie. What a lady.

The t.v. news today said that Debbie died of a Broken Heart according to the doctors. They said there is such a thing as a
broken heart and people die. I think that Debbie was living for her daughter Carrie and didn't want to live any more without her daughter. So she chose to die. Debbie was 84yrs. old.

I find it sad to lose celebrities that I may not have know personally, but that have served as reference points in my own life.
Memories of good times with friends and family while watching and listening to such talented performers over the years!
