Hi all. Well it’s Vegas-eve for me so it’s time to start another trip report. I started one before but I lost it in cyberspace. Here's the the shorter version LOL. Going to LAS again for what has become an annual meet up with some of my best friends who foolishly moved away from me years ago. This time we are staying at Cosmopolitan in the 1 bedroom terrace suite. We used to be quite loyal to Aria, but they haven’t given us squat for comps, so we’re gonna see what we can get from Cosmo. Surely if we eat, drink, gamble and even shop there, they will give us a little something. We are all low rollers, but we are human dammit! I’m double booked for the first night at Paris, cuz it was free plus resort fees, which I can cover with cet points/credits. I’m arriving earlier than my pals, so I’m hoping to try the Paris pool, use a Mon Ami/Lettuce Entertain coupon, angle shoot for some kind of comp entry to the Chateau that night for us, donate some to Paris, and maybe catch a nap. The nap is contingent on Paris letting me check in early. Fingers crossed. Once my friends get closer to Vegas, I’ll cross the street, get my B1G1 drinks at Hit in Monte Carlo, and then head/stumble over to Cosmo. In addition to the general gluttony, low-roller greed, and sloth, I’ll be going on a Vegas safari of sorts because I bought the Las Vegas Power Pass for the last day. I hope to hit the Belagio Fine Art Gallery, the Mirage Secret Gardens, the Marvel thingie at T.I., Fashion Show Mall for lunch and freebies, and then I’ll be Uber/Lyfting it to the Mob Museum for the start of the Pop Culture Walking Tour. I am not at all a downtown expert, and I'm a little nervous about going there alone, but I love historic buildings and stuff like that, and I'll have the tour group as my posse. The tour guides were sweet enough to change the tour time for lil ol’ me – I didn’t realize the Saturday tours started in the morning. When I told them I couldn’t make it that early, they offered to change the time to the 4pm time, which is what I thought it was. How sweet! The tour ends with a free drink at the El Cortez, so if I pull myself away from there, I’ll do the Eiffel tower experience, grab dinner, get my bag and then head to the airport (sniff!). I like to go into tourist-mode on the last day, and focus less on the gambling (famous last words...). I’m not sure how it all started, but I am perpetually fixated on a number of fancy cocktails that I want to try in Vegas. I blame Yelp. Here is my rough list for this trip ~Gumdrop martini from Fix/Bellagio ~raspberry lemon drop while on the casino floor in Cosmo (I never get a martini glass on the casino floor when I order a drink that belongs in one, and that has to change!) ~cherry bomb manhattan from Scarpetta ~something fun from the Peppermill ~Sinatra Smash from Wynn ~something yummy from Squeeze/Linq ~Ginger Lemon Drop from Ruth Chris/Harrahs ~breakfast beers from Nine Fine Irishmen via MyVegas ~something yummy from Bond ~something yummy from Mandarin Bar Well, ok, that list makes me sound like a horrible lush. I’m not saying I’ll have them all, but I’m gunning for these guys! So that’s about it. I need to figure out how to get a decent night’s sleep because I’m due at the airport by 6:30 am! Maybe I should just skip the sleep thing altogether! Anyway, hoping to post lots of updates and pictures. Thanks in advance for following along. Excited!
