Ha! I release all rights to the cringeworthy slot thread - someone else can start it. I think it would get political right quick tho!

I didn’t mind paying resort fees at Cosmopolitan . I’ll pay them just for the endorphin releasing, Jelly Belly jellybean / buttered popcorn flavor scent they pipe in, and the floor music. Minus 2 points for playing James Taylor and Van Morrison, but otherwise perfect gambling music!

Where did I leave off... oh i was drinking and gambling!

Here are some downtown pics I didn’t post. I hot a candid of this guy, the quintessential downtown player. And other stuff i liked.

    And still more pics!

It’s always bothered me that there is no handle or doorknobs on these. Is it a functioning door or an art installation? Look at all the fingerprints! Stop toying with people’s emotions.

OK I'm back home, doing boring stuff like calling to figure out why my new dryer hasn't been delivered and junk like that.

Sorry the photos are so big in some of these!

Well it was a great trip. I achieved my goals, which were to make my brother a Cosmo convert, to make sterling, took 2 baths in the Japanese soaking tub with bath salts, and to hit on keno. I did run myself ragged in the beginning. I underestimated how much my brother was there to gamble lol. He did 24000 coin-in at Cosmopolitan. It was hard to pull him away from super times pay so I didn't get to show him all the fun stuff like the fast-casual food district or China Poblano. I found myself worrying about him and thus playing near him, but it was all good. He made his goals too, 4 aces with a multiplier, royal, and sterling in a day. Grr. Eventually, it all caught up with me and I was pretty useless after 6 pm on my last night. Couldn't even order room service or get to Carlos bakery for treats to take home.I did get some art-o-matic art for my kids from the Cosmo cigarette machines. The one outside of Wicked Spoon took my money and gave no art fyi.

I did whiff my dive bar goals and travelling around goals to some extent. I would have felt like a total failure had I not made it downtown. The route Solomon took was awesome, got to see the wrong side of the tracks, loved it. But no Frankies, Moon Doggies, and I didn't make it to the Palms. I nearly lyfted to the Palms, after downtown, but I wanted to check on my status at Cosmopolitan before I left. And I was hungry so I ate at the Henry again.

    And I didn't make the meetup or find 2-buck @Chuck2009x at Cosmopolitan , who I guess now is 2-grand @Chuck2009x ! Congrats!

I am so glad I went to China Poblano twice, and I liked Wicked Spoon much more this trip. I had the Henry breakfast 2x too. Good food at a good price.

Gambling was okay. I had that one morning where every slot play was a win, but it was pretty dry after that. Play slots = lose money. Play keno and vp = tread water or make money. I began to see a pattern. I did play the slots that I really wanted to play, and I finally got the kitty litter bonus.

I didn't get around to pai gow poker or nlhe. I took a look at the Bellagio room and everyone looked like their dog had just been run over. I wasn't really rested up for it either. I guess I don't have the killer instinct anymore!

I wanted to hang out downtown more but I was there so early that nothing was open. Except casinos lol, but no bars or lunch places.

I never found keno explosion! I guess I have a need for my local after all.

I saved some money by not buying tickets for things that I knew I would find burdensome, even though they sounded fun at the time. I was gonna see David Lee Roth, but video of the first show looked kind of low energy, so that I skipped. I thought of buying Terry Fator tickets for my last night, but that too, I would have skipped. I guess I need to 100% into something to pull myself away from eating, drinking and gambling time.

What else...oh, both the TOms Urban reward and the 2-4-1 48th and crepe reward were vouchers. Toms was for $21 and the crepe place $11. I didn't end up using the crepe one. I used Tom's at happy hour, got 2 drinks and chicken sliders and I owed $4 and change!

I do love Mandalay Bay, but I am kind of over the upper level MLife properties. That Phil Helmuth slot pissed me off, maybe I was overtired, but come on dude. And the whole marketing campaign of "you are the famous in waiting so buy our shit" gets under my skin. I cannot stand celebrity worship and so that part of Vegas is annoying to me. I can't explain it exactly, but meh, I'll hang out at the uncool tables thanks. Maybe I'm just mad because the gambling sucked at Aria and Bellagio for me lol.

So that's it! Final photo dump to come. Thanks for following along. I know keno is pretty lame sounding but it's been a great workhorse for me. I'll be back in August if not sooner! In summer, I do more than eat, drink, and gamble - I also go to the pool!

Well - I was on the fence about going again so soon. I did 2 trips in December.
But ..... your trip report spurred me on - I am going again in February. Really enjoyed following your adventures
and it was just the kick I needed to pull the trigger on a plane ticket! Thanks for the great report.
