Hi all! I'm going to Vegas again! I was gonna make all kinds of concrete plans, but really, I just want to eat, drink, gamble and gawk, so those are my plans! This trip is of the "pinching a penny until it screams" genus, which is the usual M.O. when I am running the show. If it's free, it's for me. I got the Mirage 3 night reward from MyVegas, with it's very limited calendar, and booked it in a panic. Then I tried to slap on a cheap rate for Cosmopolitan, which I found, but then the airfare got wonky. Eventually I decided to book a cheaper flight a day earlier than my Cosmo stay, so I am at Harrahs for a free night sleepover, then off to Cosmo, then to Mirage, where I will leave a day early lol. I did the math, and even with extort fees, I am still saving dollars. This is all from someone who said they would never do vagabond Vegas again. Welp, pennies be screaming! I'm traveling with my brother for most of the trip, and not the level headed one I usually travel with but the other one, the Gamblor. I tried to get all 3 of us to go and make it an annual "sibling summit" but it didn't work out. Next year for sure. I'm trying to make Sterling at Cosmo. I love Cosmopolitan. No secret, I'm a low roller and I hate losing so I'm pretty good at shutting down the gambling. Trying to make sterling as been like a damn fever dream. Every time I go to the identity desk, they say I have XXXX points but only 300 of them count and I have points that I can use as money and I never ever get the damn free night! Ugh. I might have to semi-quarantine myself in the hotel until I make it. Really gonna try and make silverware this year dammit! Here is the rest of the general plan, subject to change at all times... Gambling: I'm going to be playing older slots, a few choice newer ones, video keno, stp 5 and 10 hand nickel video poker, regular video poker both quarters and nickels, pai gow poker, possible Cromwell blackjack, and the regular live nlhe poker may happen as well. But yeah, I don't gamble much. I'm thinking an hour of keno, bathroom break, 10 minutes of slots or vp, rinse and repeat. I really like stp but the droughts are really awful financially. I will probably meet my old nemesis Kitty Glitter at Cosmo, and I'll play the old and newer Austin Powers if I can find them. As far as video keno goes, lots of Caveman Keno if drinking. I can afford to play with abandon if it's 25 cents a press. Unfortunately I've discovered some other carny kenos that I like, which I'm sure aren't too smart to play, but what can I say, I like the sounds. Chief among these is Keno Explosion. There are these explosions! Drinks: I have lots of free drinks via MyVegas! I have 2 B1G1s at Mirage Bars, a free Alibi cocktail, and after some back and forth, I may redeem the Toms Urban reward, which is a voucher. We had great success cashing this in during their happy hour and I loved the peach martinis. And of course there will be regular ordering what's good at Cosmopolitan, and some current mai tai condition reporting ala @MikeOPensacola from around the city. I might try the Barbershop in Cosmo for a drink. The interior looks cool. Also, I am hoping at the very least to have a day downtown, so if/when I rally for this I'll try a Rush lounge mai tai for sure, and possibly check out the (Merv) Griffin Lounge and maybe Atomic . I'm not sure I can drink this much! I do love a nice cocktail but in actuality I can't really do more than two before I start to doze off, if they're made correctly. Eats: I'm making an effort to not miss dinner each night - sometimes I forget and then everyplace is closed. I'll probably eat at China Poblano, Mesa Grill in Caesars, and Blossom at Aria. Probably the Henry, maybe lunch at Lago as well (free cocktail!). I'm not a foodie but I love good food! Outings: I definitely want to do a downtown day, and ideally I'll Lyft back to Circus Circus around sunset to see it lit up - it might be gone someday soon! Hoping to pop in to Peppermill after that to check out the fire pit and nickel vp. There is also a meet up, and I want to hit Double Down Saloon for a band one night as well, but I have mixed feelings. Never been to the Double Down and it starts at midnight, maybe I will be able to make it. If any of you read my trip reports, I thank you. While there are no $40,000 swings or glorious wins, I really enjoy writing them and I hope some of my observations help others out in the future. I don't do much traveling the rest of the year so Vegas trips are my time to cut loose. Feel free to chime in if you want me to look for a particular machine or whatever, I'm good at that and it keeps me from losing more money. I don't bring a laptop to Vegas with me, so all my reporting is on the phone, and it gets sloppy and laggy at times. And then I'm not sure what I've posted. And then I am also not sure I want to revisit what I've posted lol. BUT I am going to make a strong effort to reply to all posts and questions before it turns into a drunk, rambling freestyle. I hope tap-a-talk doesn't crap-a-talk out on me, I've read a few reports of people struggling with it. What is the deal now, a limit on photo posts? That won't be good! OK, leaving in about 4 hours, lots to do before then! Rootbeers around the horn!
