Planning dinners for my next trip in a couple weeks. One night I'm hoping to grab something quick and cheap as the day is full and I won't be in the mood to sit for a full meal. I've been meaning to try the Carnegie Deli at Mirage. I love a good deli sandwich but worried it won't live up to a real downtown deli. Thoughts?

When I first went to the Carnegie deli in the Mirage they had a waiter/waitress that took your order at the table like a real restaurant. Now you stand in line and order at a counter like a Chik-fil-A and they bring it to your table. If I'm gonna drop 20 bucks on a sandwich I think I deserve better. Maybe if you get a comp or a coupon It's worth it. Otherwise, meh.

My club from a couple years back. I don't think the photo does it enough justice. It was good.

The guy at the counter was nice enough to let the Mrs and I know that we didn't need to order two of them.

Its been a few years since I last ate there. I felt like it was a bit overpriced for what you get. But I also think it is what the OP is looking for. You won't be disappointed

Everybody I know liked Carnegie Deli better than Stage Deli in NY. I liked Stage Deli better in both NY and LV. Stage Deli used to be in the Forum Shops at Caesars over a decade ago (there was a fake one in MGM that had the same name). Both Stage and Carnegie are closed in NY. So Carnegie in LV is the only one left of my favorite delis in the country. Brent's Deli and Art's Deli in LA have become my penultimate favorites now. What a shame?

I occasionally make my own pastrami and have had it at many delicatessens and I can certify that $18 for a sandwich with a half pound or more of meat is actually a pretty good deal.
It takes about 2 weeks to make pastrami and every pound of raw brisket has been reduced by the curing and smoking to about 1/2 pound of edible pastrami.

Wow the corned beef or pastrami sandwiches are fantastic.
We share one as I could never eat a whole one--they are that big.
And their cheesecake is to die for--so if you are too full to have a piece when you are done with your sandwich get one to go for later--you will be happy that you did.

we love it. go there for breakfast once per trip. My wife and I split a pastrami on rye and a slice of cheesecake for breakfast. yes, for breakfast. I am a big fella, and that half of each more than fills me up. get the myVegas for the free cheesecake. no need for the 2 for 1 sando because we split one.

Sandwiches are huge, occasionally a little chewy toward the tough side, but tasty.
Pickles are spot on (I like pickles)
    Fries are very good
*edit*. I love their potato pancakes with sour cream and applesauce (used to have the best Pirogies but no longer on the menu)

Cheesecake and oversized cakes/pies are a must for me (often take to the room for later).

Just right for a deli fix.
