    According to the article:

MGM Resorts International announced Tuesday afternoon that Carnegie Deli at the Mirage will close in February.

It will be replaced by a “new fast casual restaurant concept” in the spring, the announcement said.

I like the idea for a new casual restaurant but will miss the cheesecake at the deli.

Thanks, I am leaving for Vegas tonight, will book the MyVegas cheesecake award! Loved that place!
Always seemed packed and really popular to me, surprised it's closing.

I really hope they keep it simple and don’t bring in some LA-based hipster crap. Enough already!

Loved going there, but the quality had been going down our past few visits. Coincided I think with when the original in NYC went under. Maybe the suppliers changed since the parent company was OOB.

There are several good Jewish style restaurants left around town (off strip) however I haven't tried any of their pastrami or corned beef.

Sorry to hear that as we love the cheesecake and Reuben sandwiches. We will be there at Christmas so will be sure to go there one more time.
Seems the Mirage is making food changes(which they needed to do) as the hamburger spot is closing and a Mexican restaurant will be opening (great change) and will be interesting to see what they mean by a fast casual concept.
My suggestion has been for a food court to open at the Mirage as they have plenty of higher end places.

That was the place that introduced pastrami to me :( bad news. I was going there at least once every trip, too bad I skipped it on my last trip, staying way too south.

So I grew in Cleveland and loved Corkey and Lennys and Jack's but live about 45 minutes west of Indianapolis and go to Sharpiros which I love. But look forward to my trips to get Blintzes and great sandwiches. With the Carnegie closing what are the other Jewish style places you mention?

    Thought you'd never ask.

I visited lenny and corkys once when I visited my grandpa at the Cleveland clinic and we took him out for breakfast just before he passed away. It was excellent. Of all these places, I think the bagel Cafe has the most similar atmosphere, which for me is an important but not the only criterion. I've heard that Weiss has the best food but I haven't been there in several years. But if you want a blintzes, you probably can't go wrong at any of them. I mostly eat at these places for brunch so can favorably comment on their bagels, smoked fish, eggs, latkes, blintzes etc. And desserts!

P.s. the del mar deli at the south point and bagel corner at sun coast are not bad. Del mar has excellent matzo ball soup if you don't mind eating out of a paper bowl. Also bugsys at el Cortez has good matzo ball soup but their breakfast is terrible.

    Vegas has In-n-Out, not necessary.
