Which Casino's offer this game, I use to play it all the time and haven't seen it on my last few trips to Vegas?
I may be wrong but wasn't there a site that was out that listed the games they were played in the major houses ?
Our last visit to Ballys they had 2 $5.00 tables open over the weekend both tables were always full. They were located at the slot floor end of the table game area. I don't recall the game being open during the week although they may have been. p
This game is slowly fading away, being replaced by other poker games like 4-Card Poker, Mississippi Stud and (my favorite) Ultimate Texas Hold'em. I've always avoided it because without the dollar bet on the progressive, it's dull as dirt (you can get a Royal Flush and only win one unit if the dealer doesn't qualify), and the rake on the dollar bet is generally enormous.
List from 2012: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20120208120333AApiMtA I looked at Monte Carlo and NYNY and it doesn't say on their website that they have it. I thought I walked by one last July in Harrahs.
Monte Carlo still has it for sure. I saw it there last week. The Venetian may still have it. They had two tables for a long time. Haven't checked in a while though. Other than that, I don't think any strip casinos have it anymore.
A couple of years ago I read several comments on the Vegas boards I frequent that the licensing fees for this game had doubled and that was at least part of the reason some casinos dropped it. I have no way of knowing if this is true.
I remember around 2007 it disappeared from all vegas casinos for a period of time due to their renting of the game and license so I remember that too
It seems to be rare in more markets than LV. The only two places that still have it on the MS Gulf Coast are Beau Rivage and Treasure Bay. I often stay at the Hard Rock and walk over to the Beau Rivage just to play some CSP.
The same is true with one other game I like to play = Pai Gow poker. The dealer does not qualify in this game, BUT, if you do not play the SUCKER BET, and get a Royal, you get 1 unit - 5% Commission.
This happned to me once (not a Royal, but a 4-OAK). Didn't have the buck in. Dealer didn't 'qualify'. Won 1 unit. I hate it & I'm happy that the floor space is now favoring UTH, 3-card & 4-card.
Ive only played it at Rio.... didn't love it, so when I saw it elsewhere I just kept walking.... Hubbs plays it a like its. I don't know why.
