I typically don't get a car service or limos for trips but I figured I'd splurge a little on this trip as it's the first time that my wife and I will be childless (2.5 year old and 6 month old) since our last Vegas trip. I was looking st my reservation through Omni and noticed that gratuity was already included.

Question is, do you still tip even though the tip is already included? It seemed a little light $7 on a $50 ride (approx 14%). I figured I'd throw the driver $10-$20 extra.

I know tipping is VERY subjective but just wanted to get some feedback.

    Thanks!

An extra $10 seems appropriate to me. No one in Vegas EVER says, "No" to a tip!

I use Bell Limo to get airport to resort and usually tip around $10 to the driver. I figure center strip to the airport is around 15-20 mins depending on traffic, $10 seems about right. I've had the drivers offer to make stops at convenience/liquor stores while on the way to the resort before, so it's obvious they are hoping for a little extra even if the gratuity is "included". It's Vegas. Everybody's got to eat.

As a limo driver I can tell you an extra tip is always appreciated. The included tip is mandatory since most limo companies pay less then minimum wage on the hourly portion of the pay. So the tip brings you above minimum wage. For a short trip $10 is very good.

We like to splurge on the limo ride when in Vegas too. Kind of sets the tone for the whole trip! We always tip $20, even if part of that is "prepaid".

And when or if you get to the point you decide to bring your two kids with you, I posted info this past summer about limos and infant/child seats, fyi!

    Have a great trip...

$10 - $20 is a common tip for a one hour hire; if they're tacking on a mandatory tip of $7, then an additional $10 is fine.

I've never done a limo trip yet with a mandatory tip, I'd want to make sure the driver was actually getting it.

For most limo companies the tip is mandatory and included so the driver doesn't have to worry about being stiffed. The limo company I work for is about 98% corporate people and they almost never give a cash tip. So it has to be included. Now in their defense passengers are told the tip is included, but for some of our accounts the rides are discounted which always means a lower tip. It's nice when someone does give a little extra in the form of a cash tip.

Going to surprise our group of 5 Vegas virgins with a limo ride from the airport to our hotel, so how much is the general rule of thumb on tipping the driver, would like for the limo to stop at the welcome sign and maybe a liquor store. Any ideas ?? Thanks...

Like the others said $10 would be a minimum. If I ask for more than a straight ride or have more than 2 ppl I would up it to $15-20. I've done $25-30 when I requested and received a specific driver and a little extra long ride. They cannot always take more than they are booked but make sure you get your hour from the time your plane lands.

Tipping and a limo always seems difficult to justify the amount.

If I take a cab - it will be $15 plus a few bucks tip.

If I take Uber, it will be $11 and no tip - maybe a few bucks. The driver does not get an hourly wage and pays for his own car.

If I take a comped limo, the driver is using the casinos car and is getting paid some sort of hourly wage. Many give him $20 - more than the cab or uber total cost.

If I pay for a limo, we think we should do a percentage of the cost.

Cabbie that usually has to pay part back to the company gets a few bucks. Uber similar.
But, tipping the limo driver who does not own the car and is getting a wage, we tip $20?

    Go figure.

I normally tip $10 for the "shared" limo from BellTrans. $20 if they stop at CVS so I can pick up drinks. :)
