Oh sure. How did that work?

I do agree that barriers would make some sense... not matter what state they are from - LOL!

I am amazed how funds are often started when things happen. House fires, death, cancer, job loss, etc. Do we always assume these folks have no funds, savings, insurance or other means of support? Trying not to be a jerk on uncaring, but....

I think most people are unprepared financially for the sudden death of a member of the family. Crazy, I know.

Also, I think people like to do something nice for people who've been struck by tragedy. Even if those people don't "need" it.

And there aren't needs closer to home? Hey, props to anyone who reaches out to help others, I'm just not personally or remotely seeing a nexus here, not when I look around in town and regionally.

I agree with this, too. I feel bad, but if I'm going to make this sort of donation, it is going to be to a friend or neighbor.

Can we please not bicker about the bickering in threads? Every time you make a comment about the thread going off topic, you just drive it further off the rails. Then I have to come through and delete things and people PM me to complain about me deleting things and I have to reply to all of those, but then there's a new thread to clean up. Lather. Rinse. Repeat. C'mon people, I still have Christmas errands to run!

Bobby took my lollipop!!! Sarah looked at me cross-eyed!!

It's the holidays. If we're posting here we are on the positive side of the turf. For whatever else might be going on in individual lives, that we can say that is a lot better than many, who of course by definition could not be saying anything, but you get the point. Life ain't so bad for ANY of us if we can post on a Vegas message board.

    Any updates on this tragedy?
It made the news over here when it first broke but I've not heard anything since.

Last I heard this morning from a police report that she said she was stressed because she was being kicked out of parking lots trying to sleep in her car.

That whole storyline makes zero sense. Reports have her "not wanting to be on the Strip" and stressed about getting rousted out of parking lots, but she's driving down the busiest and most high-profile street in town?

If she really didn't want to be on the Strip, she had about 15,000 other parking lots in town to choose from and many of them don't have quite as much security. Just doesn't add up.

This isn't a whodunnit. The woman obviously has more than a few issues. You're going to have a hard time rationalizing the actions of an irrational person.

Thanks for that. I was about to put my two cents in, but now realize I would be overdrawn.

This is why I don't participate in Internet panhandling. There have been more than enough stories to prove that gofundme is not verifying the relationship between the person running the fund and the victim that they claim that the money will go towards.

I have a friend whose husband and child were killed a few years back. The story made national headlines. Someone at her church started a fund within hours of the incident and she was pretty upset about it. She didn't need the money and we made sure she was taken care of. There were probably a total of four funds that random people started.

Just got back from Las Vegas last night stayed at Ballys had walked out minutes after it happened. when we got to the strip you Could hear emergency vehicles coming from everywhere and they just kept coming. You had to know it was bad when the motorcycle police were flying though oncoming traffic up the strip but they had that part of the strip closed down in just a few minutes.
