I cancelled tomorrow-Wed, as well.
I have joined the cancellation crew. After considering "what we know" and "what we don't know", it made more sense to wait for a better time to make a trip to Las Vegas.
We'll still travel a little but mostly to places where we can avoid a lot of human contact outside of our family.
It has been posted that you have to have your mask on between sips.
Had it booked, but couldn’t make 7/2-7/5 work out. Yes, it sucks. Trying to focus on November or early December now.
I canceled my mid-July trip as well. We have instead booked a week in the keys. We can drive there instead of flying, and spend time outdoors. But the numbers just keep rising, so we’ll see.
earlier today, bartenders were letting it slide, suits and security came down to carnaval court and told people that health officials kept calling them about mask down or not on, they said remove, sip or puff, put back right away
35 minutes into the whip-its playing they stopped for Technical difficulties, they came out 30 minutes later and had to all wear mask and sing through them
its bullshit...a suit in Linq stopped me because the mask was at the tip of my nose, not fully covering my nose...other bars I wont name, you didnt have to wear a mask but had to show one and keep it visible to get a drink
NEWOrleans......wearing a mask is bullshit? Wow. You're a brave man. I want you in my foxhole.
Incidentally New Orleans......I was in your city from 03/07-03/17. Did the French Quarters & Bourbon Street thing too. I've been there before but this time was different. I believe that the officials in Louisiana knew of the spread of Cporvid19 but denied it's existence because cancelling Mardi Gras would have devastated the local economy. Weeks later the entire state became the epicenter of the virus.
I have a late August/Early Sept. trip planned and I'm on the fence about whether or not to cancel. Seeing all the requirements, lack of Lyft availability, and restaurant limitations makes it look like not much fun. I figure I have about another month to decide.
Our September Tahoe trip is still on (postponed from June), as is our Ballys AC trip in mid-July. Fingers still crossed, but watching everything very carefully.
I have an early September trip. Everything I have can be cancelled day of. I’ll probably end up deciding the day before.
We were to arrive tomorrow, we canceled.
As a solo traveller on EST, I am hoping for the best for September. I'd prefer not to wear a mask but can take it a few hours at a time. I'll be in the casino at very empty times - usually 4 or 5 AM. I can play for a few hrs and come back up. I can bring food and a bottle of wine...hopefully can do take out cocktails and sandwiches. The view from the room and several 2-3 hr stints in the casino is all I need. I will cancel if travelling is worse than today. All comp rooms. Flights were paid for 1/2 in points and 1/2 in refundables. The price has more than quadrupled since I book. I could change the dates but would have to pay the fare difference, not willing to do that so it's either go or cancel with hopes for next year.
There are many masks out now that have a flap or hole for a straw so you can drink with your mask on--also some would work if you smoke. They are on Etsy-Ebay and Amazon. If the mask requirement is still on in late Aug I plan to get a few for our trip
I am thinking my gambling hours will be decreased and I also plan to play on off hours. My next trip is in 29 days, followed by the first week in November and then again at Christmas. I've booked comped rooms for November and December via MLife and CET. Although those would change out as offers for my preferred downtown casinos come in. But if my reduced gaming cuts out those expected offers, I am still set in comped rooms.
I have no idea what will happen when I am actually there, but my trip may be less degenerate gambling and more relaxing in my room. We shall see. Those machines scream my name so loud I can hear them in my room.
If you want a fun experience, look into Deadwood. It has all the gambling Vegas offers minus any of the things that people are getting annoyed with right now about Vegas.
I'm curious what that means...No masks, no social distancing? Or something else?
My May trip has been cancelled. My September trip will be cancelled.
Let’s hope for a ‘normal’ trip in January 2021.
South Dakota has probably the least restrictions of any state right now. In fact, it never actually shut down in the first place. You can look up various slot channels play in Deadwood from a month ago. Some properties do temp checks, no property that I know of requires masks though you can certainly wear one, most gaming machines are on vs the staggered way Nevada and other places are doing it. Funny enough for the 4th of July, the Hampton Inn Deadwood is more expensive than the Wynn.
My boss just canceled his 2 upcoming week long annual Vegas trips, including a fantasy football draft at MGM that he and his friends have done for 7 years in a row.
