I played the DD S17 game on the main floor and the one in Whiskey Down over Labor Day Weekend - both were face up, sadly.

Why 'sadly'? I would think seeing all player cards as they're dealt is an 'advantage' (if you're counting), and I cannot think of any player disadvantage.

I'm pretty sure that the only reason casinos do it this way is to minimize card marking, bending, notching or switching...and, having seen how badly some players handle the cards, I can't say I blame them.

When I was there, $100. It was a Monday (Labor Day) night. It was far from dead in the casino, but it wasn't busy either. I'd imagine the DD game might be a bit higher than that on a busy weekend night.

Here's a little write up I did after my trip:

A sharp player can't edge sort if cards are dealt face up.
