This just got posted about an hour ago. No further details from what I can tell, but I think this is an awesome upgrade. I really hope one will be able to order a Loco Moco through room service

To the best of my knowledge, it’s only Golden Nugget and Four Queens that offer room service at downtown hotels. Hopefully this will prompt other properties to offer it too!

Nice! I wonder if you can save 40% if you pay with points. :D

I don’t know if they still do it, but Downtown Grand had room service at one point. You could even order from Pizza Rock at one point. It’s been a little bit since I stayed there, so I am not sure if room service is still available at DTG.

Lappert’s hot fudge sundae double scoop with nuts of course. It’s the cherry that counts. Pronto.

I miss the Cal Club and Pasta Pirate. I wish they could deliver their old menus and prices via room service.

The Cal Club had to make a ton of money. I know of at least three other people that ate there.

I've missed people missing these places. Not anymore though.

I walked into the Pasta Pirate once for supper, and one of the employees had a steering wheel sticking out of the front side of his pants. I asked him "hey man, what is that steering wheel doing in your britches?" He said "argh, it be drivin' me nuts!"

I swear I want to buy a steering wheel belt buckle now just to tell this joke...

I saw the room service menu during my stay last week, but never looked at it for more than a "Huh, that's new". I've never done room service so (to me) its as useless as pen and paper in the room or free local calls.

Somebody else can use my portions :)

This is awesome! I'm stoked! Can't wait until someone posts a screen shot of the menu.

I agree, but if you get sick to the point you're stuck in the room it's a wonderful thing to be able to order room service.

I will be interested to see the menu and prices. Occasionally, it is a nice alternative if you are under the weather, etc.

I have never in my life used room service. I might have to address that gap in my life experience on my next trip. Any hotels/restaurants that excel in this service?

Wynn and Bellagio do a great job with room service and have some interesting offerings.

Caesars Palace is surprisingly good, Cosmo is pretty good too, as is Cromwell with food from Giada.

I’ve been disappointed at Aria and Mirage.

None are a good value, but room service at Wynn, Bellagio, or CP is a nice experience.

Of course you can always order through grubhub or one of those other delivery places to get your food.

One time I remember being at el cortez (vintage rooms) where one company slipped their brochures under the door. Guess they delivered to someone and decided to drop off their brochure to everyone staying on that floor. But not sure how easy that would be with security at the elevators at most hotels. Guess you could always meet the guy downstairs.

I tried this in the middle of the night when staying at Luxor. The order was accepted, then the restaurant decided they didn't want to deliver to the Strip and canceled the order. Your mileage may vary, of course.

Downtown Grand offers the Freedom Beat menu as room service. Same food as prices as eating in the restaurant. I don't think they even charge for delivery to your room.

Way back in the day, Hyatt Regency used to have "coffee girls". Young & pretty, they would come to your room with complimentary coffee each morning. They'd come in, set you up with an insulated pot & pour your first cup.
I suspect it's because of young (single-at-the-time) guys that they discontinued the service.
    Some fond memories, though!

Those bastard young and single at the time guys ruin it for all. I am disgusted as I am sure are all those indicted for taking advantage of same. Except I don’t see much of the “young and single” are they in that group—.

I swear, I'd pay my last dollar to get to experience that level of old-school hospitality just once. Hell, I don't care if the person bringing it is young, pretty, or even a girl for that matter. I'm conditioned to feeling as though a hotel stay consists of four walls, a bed, and some plumbing. I'd probably think I was dreaming if I had someone bring me free coffee each morning.
