Has anyone tried this with a desk clerk at check in and been successful? I know that Venetian/Palazzo clerks have/had the juice to do it..

    V/P is Sands not Caesars.

That being said, CET doesn't usually waive them unless you have 7*'s

What incentive would the desk clerk have to do this for someone?

I haven't personally but have heard several people getting the resort fee waived due to various reason by desk agents at Caesar properties.

Resorts fees are waived by CET for Diamond and 7*.

I thought it was Diamond or higher. Has that changed?

I would take the resort fees and apply to room upgrade then tip $20. They'd get a comission on the upgrade + tip. I'd get a better room.

Thanks for info re dia and 7*. I need to get real busy!

I hope it works for you. I could see getting them removed by a host or after someone reviewed your play at the end of the trip.

It never hurts to ask. I'm sure all hosts have heard once or twice that we don't like the resort fees. :) Even if you don't make diamond, if you give them a decent level of play, it's worth a stop by the hosts office to ask. The worst they can do is say no.
