    My Trip Report

    PART ONE

Finally got a chance to put a few words together to come up with a trip
    Report.

Travel Dates Sunday March7th to Thursday March 11th
Flight : Appleton Wisconsin on Allegiant Air
Hotel : 4 nights comped at Caesars Palace

Sunday March 11th: Left Appleton about 15 minutes late, flight was pretty good not too much turbulence.
Had a different approach in to Vegas, it was really cloudy so
we really couldn’t tell where we were until just before we landed, when we landed we were right next to the Mandalay Bay.
Taxied for what seems like forever and finally get
to our D gate. Deplaning took wayyyyy to long. Now come on now, if you are a person that needs special assistance getting on a plane wouldn’t it make sense for you to wait
to get off the plane instead of having 50 some people barking up your butt why you get your crutches and carry on down and then try to maneuver out of the airplane!!!
sorry about the rant but we need to use some common sense here!!!

Yup leave it to us to arrive in the desert while it’s raining!!
Carry on only so off to the taxi stand without a single second wait. Ride was quick and only about about 17 bucks.
Off we go to check in, kind of weird how the taxi drops
you off at CP and you have to walk thru part of the casino to get to the lobby. Only 2 people on line ahead of us at the Platinum Check in, took a little while, but not too bad.
Had a room booked in the Palace Tower. The guy typed away, we didn’t attempt the 20 dollar trick ( I always chicken out of this one)
Just asked for a nice room. Got a room on the 26th floor with a view of the mountains and the strip up towards the Wynn etc.. Nice view , nice room , LOVED the bathroom. Marble floor with a seperate toilet room. shower and a Jacuzzi tub . YIPEE. We also got 2 bath robes in the room. Which is a first
for me so I was pretty excited!!! The room had a comfy king bed with a down comforter and a whole bunch of pillows. Room had a flat screen TV, desk, chair with ottoman, safe, and vanity area. The mini bar was hid inside the armoir but then they put out a tray of snax so people can see them and get tempted to purchase. I did manage to bump this once with the ice bucket, but it must not have been enough to get me charged for them.
    I figure that by the
next time we get to vegas they will take the mini bar to a whole new level and have bowls of snacks put all over the room and you can pay by the handful!!!
Unpacked and hit the floor for our first miller lite found a couple of machines and sat down
Within seconds our first cocktail waitress arrived and we ordered and she said I’ll be back with 2 ice cold Miller Lites in about 6 minutes. Okay it probably took her 8 but they were ice cold. 10 minutes later and she’s back and asks 2 more Lites for you. Um sure, after this we need to find some food. Cashed out 20 bucks up and 2 miiler lites down. Aaahhhh life is good.
Head out (in the rain) going to Margaritaville for an order of nachos and a couple of Mangoritas… mmmmmmm
had to wait 30 minutes so we wandered to the flamingo for the wait. Got seated at a pretty good table, a lot going on here today. A couple of guys on stilts walking around making balloon hats, a girl heading down the margarita slide, and other girls walking around selling necklaces and bracelets for breast cancer awareness. After dinner we headed back to the Flamingo for a couple of hours. I put in my 20 and was back to even. Hubby hit a little on a penny mermaid machine. I got bored and roamed over to Wicked Winnings 2. this machine was fun and played with me for quite awhile but eventually I lost a couple of 20’s. Hubby finally cashed out of the mermaid machine a little ahead and joined me on Wicked Winnings. This was weird as soon as he sat down a slot attendant came over and asked him to remove his card. He put
His card in and punched some numbers and told us that the service light was on and he had to reset it. Now normally hubby wouldn’t like this because he figures the guy is doing something evil to his machine. But in this case, he kept winning and winning. He was up
to over 200 dollars when he asked me play it for him while he went to the restroom. I was in spectator mode, because my machine took me for a ride, and it was fun watching him win. Well after about 5 pulls I get ravens and the wild girls everywhere and the
Bottom flashes 10,000 X 12. Trying to do the quick math in my head I tell the lady next to me “I think I just won 1200 dollars” Wholly F. I couldn’t stop grinning. Hubby came
back and he was pretty thrilled, I guess it would have been better for him to hit but what the heck it all goes in the same bank!! The same slot attendant came back and took my ID and asked for my SS number ( I didn’t need my card for this..which was nice because it was in the room) But for 1200 bucks I would have went and got it. He filled out the form right there and pulled out 12- 100 dollar bills from his pouch and paid me right there. He didn’t even do the countdown to a tip, but I pulled out 20 anyway. Played for
a little bit but eventually cashed 200 more out of the machine and we vowed to put the 1200 in the safe and not touch it. It’s going back home and in the bank…which it did YAY. Played a little bit longer at CP before we called it a night. It was 2:00 am at home
    and a long travel day.
Checked our cash total for the day and besides the 1200 Hubby was up 200 and I was down 50 GOOD START hope the rest of the trip is like this.
Off to slumber land in our big comfy bed!!! :drunk:

Congrats! Sounds like you had a darn near the same room as I did the week before. Thank goodness you didn't have the same luck!

    DAY 2 Monday March 8th

Start my day around 7 ish I just can’t seem to get on west coast time. My first trip out is down to Payard for a Coffee, juice for hubby and a pastry to share. But first I decide to try and find that darn triple diamond machine I hear about. Never did find it but I did find
a dollar triple diamond so I slip in a 20, order a baileys and coffee and play away, after a few spins I hit 90 bucks so I decide to play up to 100 or down to 80 well I went down to
80 and then I had to wait for my coffee. Put a ten in a penny machine and sipped my coffee, yummy but a little too much baileys for this early in the morning (for me anyway)
Lost the 10 and picked up my morning goodies. Up 50 bucks woo hoo. Head back to
the room crawl back in to bed, watch a little tv and enjoy my coffee. AAAHHH this is the way to start the day. After an hour or so of lounging I head off to the Jacuzzi with
my book and read a couple chapters, shower and get ready for the day. We hit the halls about 10:30.
Back down to our original penny machines that we started the
trip with. This will be our Achilles heel the entire trip. Put in a 20, lost this time uh oh
that’s not the way I want to start the day. Hang around CP a bit and then we head out
to hit up Harrahs properties today. Basically I think that’s all we did today. Bounced around between Harrahs IP Bally’s Flamingo Paris and then back to CP. I think our meals today consisted of sharing a plate of Chinese food from the food court by Harrahs
and a sandwich from Payards when we went back to CP LOL we are not big in to food when we travel.
Gambling wise we didn’t do so well today, a couple of small hits but
nothing big enough to take back with us, just enough to keep us playing a little longer.
We mainly play the penny slots. We both went to bed with emptier pockets, didn’t totally go through todays stash but put a big dent in it. Still have the 1200 though.
Went back to the room about 9:30 to lounge around and watch some TV. These days wipe us out. Oh yeah forgot to comment on the weather. A little chilly for Vegas
standards. But this would be the nicest day of our whole vacation. close to 60, eh
took a walk out by the pool and there were 2 lifeguards out there bundled up like eskymos, but nobody swimming.

    DAY 3 Tuesday March 9th
Same start to the day, maybe slept a little later, didn’t gamble before coffee and didn’t get the Bailey's YET
Just coffee and juice this morning. We want to hit up Harrahs buffet
    for breakfast today.
People have said how big CP is and how long a walk it is to everything, I really didn’t think it was too bad. It took me less than 5 minutes to get from the room to Payards in the morning.
I really didn’t have too hard of a time finding my way around the place.
Before staying here I was always in a fog when I roamed around this place.
Did the laying around bit, jacuuzi, book, shower, primp, out the door by 10.
play our Achilles heel again and get my baileys and coffee ahh much better a little
later in the day, Roamed through the Forum shops and head over to Harrahs for the
buffet. We hit it about 10 minutes before the changeover to lunch. I was craving a big old salad and
Hubby wanted hash and eggs, so best of both worlds. Only bad thing
was by the time the salad stuff was ready I was already full. Sampled a few sweets with coffee
and rolled out of here to play a little at Harrahs, then our goal today was
to head out towards the Venetian and Wynn. Did this with a stop at Casino Royale.
CR has been remodeled somewhat and added on to in the back. No big wins to speak of
again today. The Venetian stunk as usual, gambling wise, smell wise, and beer wise.
Finally had one Miller Lite and played a little but the smell just gets to me and gives me a headache.
Oh yeah speaking of odors, previously I had never noticed the often mentioned aroma in the Flamingo, but I did notice it this time, the first night in there
I got all stuffed up and figured I was coming down with a cold. Never thought about it
again until we went in there the second night and it happened again an AHA moment!!
Still a better smell than the Venetian but the coconut smell can get nauseating too.
After our bit at the Venetian, we head back to Harrahland….we figure we should play
Our majority at Harrahs properties so we can still get the offers coming in. So we spent
The rest of the day doing this. Finally realized we should eat something and remember
the hot dog cart at Bill’s. Hubby heads for 2 hot dogs and I go get in line for 2 Margaritas.
Ahhhh life is good with supper on a paper boat. Hubby got the last 2 hot dogs and he
Thought the guy behind him was going to cry, he told him “I’m really hungry” Yeah Yeah whatever
your aren’t getting my wife’s hot dog (cause I’m sure he wouldn’t have given up his own) LOL Went back to CP after our delightful dinner and hung out there
for awhile. Ran completely out of todays funds so we hit up the gift shop for a couple
bottles of hard lemonade and some snax. Lounge around for a bit then take an eight hour nap

DAY 4 Wednesday March 10th last day BOO
Today started out the same way yeah yeah down to Payards coffee juice and a Danish
No gambling- no Baileys back up to the room lay around, Jacuzzi, read, shower and
Pre pack. Don’t really like the last day in Vegas. Got out of the room around 10:30
Again, same old machines for starters and today we were off towards Planet Hollywood
With any and all Harrahs stops along they way. Heading out it was beautiful outside
Mid 50’s sunny aaahhh nice. Went in to Paris and played for quite awhile and the we
head to Planet Hollywood to find something to eat. Well something happened outside
the wind picked up and it was kind of misty and COLD….wholly wah what happened to
our nice day, and this kept up for the whole day, so we weren’t going to be walking far,
ah who are we kidding we were going to stay in Harrahland all day anyway. So after a midday lunch at Cheese Burgers
in the Miracle Mile Shops, we just hung out between
here and Harrahs and back to CP for the evening, Played for quite awhile at IP and even
won a little bit, and played plenty it was fun, lots of good cocktails and a little bit of entertaining playing.
That and it being Wednesday people were starting to come in to
town for the weekend, so people watching and seeing everyone on their first night in town is always fun to see. We stumbled our way back to CP and it was still crappy outside hit up a few fun machines here and then went back to out Achilles heel and
played there for a long time and a lot of "one more beers", Hubby actually cashed out of
his machine a couple of hundred up, it must have known it was his last night and took pity on him. I cashed out at 80 and just watched (and drank)
I finally got to have a Pina Colada that I had seen someone get earlier in
the trip and knew I had to try one at some point, and it was yummy, I think it was also dinner,
because in all our last night hooplah I don’t think we ate anything for supper,
yup just split a Danish for breakfast and had cheeseburgers for lunch and a lot of miller
lites and such in between. Went to the room by 10:30, had to be up at 5:00 to get to the
airport. Didn’t come out ahead today but we did play a lot for our money and did
go to bed with money in our pockets, so besides the 1200 in the safe we each had a few hundred left of our bankroll. I call that a good Vacation.

MORE TOMORROW for our trip home and final thoughts

    GOING HOME DAY 3/11/10

Up at 5 am to make our 8:15 flight back to Appleton. UP and ready and out
the door by 6 am (no juacuzzi time ) Go to check out and she says that we have
94 dollars in comps and our bill is 134. Thene she says wait a minute I can adjust
that for you I see you played some last night. Click away and she says okay your
balance is 1.30 (I had put the tip on my bill from my first day coffee run because
I didn’t have any small bills) WOW kind of glad I bought that fleece jacket on day 3.
Quick cab ride to the airport I think it was around 13 bucks. Shortest Security Line
I’ve ever seen in Vegas so it was a quick trip through. Get to our gate probably by 7
And decide to roam around a little bit, not much going on so back to our gate and pick
up a coffee and cinnabon for the plane ride. Our flight ends up getting delayed because
of fog in Appleton, so we don’t even board til 8:30, we sat there for a bit but ended up taking off about an hour late. Had only a small bit of turbulence other than that is
was pretty uneventful. Everyone is so much quieter on way home. Got in about an
hour late and it was pouring rain, so we ended up getting soaked on the way to our car.
Oh well at least all the snow melted, early spring WE HOPE!!

FINAL THOUGHTS and OH YEAH I FORGOT

When we got to Vegas on Sunday it was very quiet, kind of nice and relaxing but by
Tuesday it started getting busy and by Wednesday it was Crazy. This could be because
The weather sucked so everyone was inside.

A lot of people hawking stuff on bridges, last time we were there bike cops were chasing
The dollawatta people away but this time they had water, sunglasses, singing, dancing, and the usual guy “why lie I need a beer”. I don’t really like maneuvering through these
people and feel bad for the folks with kids who have to dodge them.

Porn Slappers out in full force, they didn’t care that it was rainy and cold. I wish these would go away. If for no other reason that the litter, they should make these people
pick up all the crap people drop.

The last night there we ran into people we know from our hometown, we always seem to
run in to somebody we know. The guy said “geesh it’s cold here and I only brought one
pair of jeans” Hubby said don’t worry we’re leaving it will warm up.

Caesar’s Palace is not that big and daunting at it seems to be when you take a walk
through. The Forum shops add a lot on but I guess the main thing is that it isn’t easy to get in or out of.

The check in line a couple of times that we passed the lobby was crazy long. I can’t imagine how long it took some of those groups to check in.
There were quite a few groups of what appeared to be mainly college kids roaming
around, some were foreign so not sure if it was a field trip for a class on architecture
or what , they seemed to be interested in the décor and not the slots. One group was
at the elevator one night when we went to bed and the next day the same group was walking away from the elevators when I went for coffee, both times they were carrying luggage, I can’t imagine
that you would make CP a quick pit stop just to spend the night, but the appeared to be what was going on.

On with the countdown to our next trip. I was very disappointed in the weather I guess it
would have been better to go a week later but you never know.

Great trip report thanks for publishing. What penny slots do you mainly play? I am heading out end of April for a nice relaxing 4 days.

I understand you think that its an early spring here in Wisconsin but, there is call for snow on Saturday and Sunday so mother nature is teasing us again here in the SE part of the state.:grrr:

    Have a great day.

We really like the reel power slots where it pays anywhere as long as they are on adjacent columns Wicked Winnings, Pompei, Some machine with a chinese guy on the front (never knew the name we just call in China man joe because during the bonus the song sounds like cotton eyed joe :drunk:)
wild buffalo. etc there are a bunch of them all around....
wicked winnings 2 is the one I won on it's fun and we played them all over vegas but the one in the flamingo was the nicest
