Caesars- anyone have their host comp their food and retail WITHOUT using reward credits first ? Mine says its policy and that's just what he does because he is a rule follower.

Mlife- anyone ever been able to have their host comp retail charges to the room. Once again told that they cant comp it ever.

    Thanks

I have, but that was a long time ago at CET. Different hosts will bypass this rule, and others will abide (like yours.)

My host doesn't even seem to have control of it. The people in charge of checkout do the RC charge off automatically and then extra charges my host can handle. This is despite me being RFB on property. I have to try to use my RCs right before checkout.

Can confirm for MLife retail can’t be comped at my level. I’m a table games player comped marquee or skyline terrace and have gotten thousands comped off the back end with the remaining amount being tips and a $20 sunscreen from the pool. Can’t speak to whether the policy changes for whales

In my experience, Las Vegas CET casinos will NOT backend comp before reward credits. Outside of Vegas CET casinos (Reno, Lake Tahoe, Laughlin, etc.), will.

I know for Caesars that it's a bendable rule. Some comp and then use reward credits and some take the reward credits first then comp.

So I'm thinking from now on I'll use the RC before the host can get his hands on them lol

My host does takes them also. Mentioned to my host I didn't like it, maybe if more complain they'll change. Other CET properties do NOT take RC so it's a LV penalty.

Definitely a policy to take RCs first in the Las Vegas market.

One thing I was surprised at was that my host at Harrah's in Atlantic City was able to use my backend comps to give me extra free play. I hadn't ever convinced any other CET host to do that.

It's CET policy to use RCs first but I've had them bend this rule before. But, best policy is just to spend your RCs and then get the comps. Only time this wouldn't work is if you were trying to save up RCs to buy something expensive like a TV, but since those tend to be the worst deals on the store, I think that most people are best served just by spending their RCs and then asking for the comp.

At CET what would you use RCs on that a host can't comp? I can think of free play, but that is at a 2 for 1 ratio I think for most people now.

CET allows some amount of retail use, as well as conversion to other reward program points. An easy way, other than freeplay, is buy liquor at the resort store. I'm sure it's only a matter of time before they go the way of MLife on that, but for now you can get a nice bathrobe, some candles, and a few bottles of liquor at Caesars Palace (or at least you could last time I tried). Again, the pricing isnt the best, but maybe not as gouge as buying something nice on the marketplace.

The rule appears to be CET will use RC first. Some folks have had some luck around that.

Mlife is very tight with retail. (like no way). They will not comp retail for the vast majority of players. There is always that small percent. (5% maybe) that are at the top end and can get hard comps like retail, airfare, shows and non company properties, etc.

I just dump it all into slot play. The credits are so low anyways so it's not like it matters a ton.

The real power play is probably to transfer points to hyatt,- (oops... wyndham!) then, if you want, transfer then back down the road when you want to spend them. Or convert to airline miles or something. Only catch is I know that can take a couple days to clear and I dont know how quickly it will remove or hold them in your CR account so that a host cant spend them. They can probably see that you did that and it may accect your backend comp anyway but I know for me the down side to a zero balance on RC is I somewhat frequently use mine to 'buy' a drink or a quick bite on arrival after traveling 7 to 9 hours to get there. And you could probably end-around that by transferring between rewards programs

The other "Catch" is that you can only transfer 30,000 points in a year from CET to Wyndham.

Agree. This is where we all learn so much about Vegas and comps.
