I know you should never take a cab to get to a strip club and use the "free" club limo instead but what kind of a fare should i expect from Sapphire back to the nearest big strip hotel which would be ?

I dont mind having to walk the rest of the way to my home hotel just want to be dropped at a safe place

Circus Circus is very close. I imagine it wouldn't cost more than six bucks

Have one less drink at the club, and treat yourself to a cab all the way home

If I were you, I'd cab/Uber to SLS. You can take the monorail from there, which will probably be a faster/easier way to wherever exactly you're trying to go on the strip.

Why not take Uber or Lyft direct to your home hotel? It's probably the safest way to go, unless you plan on hanging out on the LV strip for awhile before heading back to your hotel. Uber/Lyft rates are also cheaper than taxis.

The difference in an uber ride for SLS versus ti is probably pretty negligible.

Monorail is not open 24 hours and (not gonna judge but) who goes to strip clubs in the middle of the day? On top of that I can't fathom a situation where it's ever faster/easier than an uber.

Indeed. Just take the cab to your destination! Why try to save literally ONE DOLLAR to get dropped off farther away?

    This is really bad advice.

I just pulled up Lyft and compared fares from Sapphire to SLS versus Sapphire to TI. The fares were within a few CENTS and around $8.

Taking the rideshare to SLS, walking all the way through the property to the monorail station, buying a $5 ticket, waiting, taking the monorail to the closest stop near TI (Harrah’s/Linq), walking all the way through Harrah’s, crossing the strip, and finally ending up at TI... is cheaper and faster?

You’re assuming that their end destination is TI. Based on their countdowns, they’re staying at PHo and Mandalay Bay. Their objective is to safely get “to the strip”, and they said they would be ok walking the rest of the distance. Assuming that one wouldn’t necessarily want to walk from TI to PHo or Mandalay, the monorail will cover a lot of distance to either destination and at a relatively low cost.

So if they’re trying to get to TI specifically... then I do agree with you, it would be terrible advice. But based on the OP’s post, I’m not led to believe that’s the case.

Thanks for all the info, Uber/Lyft is a no go for me, and yes indeed my final destination will be Mandalay Bay on that night so ill will probably cab it from Sapphire to TI and just walk the rest of the way

Next to Sapphires is a great Mexican restaurant with happy hours.

That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

Edit: I walked to El Dorado Cantina from Circus Circus, at least 3 cabbies stopped along the way to offer me a ride. Didn’t know Sapphires was next door, but quickly realized why the cab drivers were being so friendly.

I went for tacos! Err....I mean Mexican food! Burritos, rice and beans. Victoria beer on draft....Yes, that’s it!

But I believe cabbies get a finders fee for dropping off patrons at Sapphires.

That Mexican place has $5 Don Julio 1942 on Tuesdays. If you're into tequila, you know thats a steal!

OP - just budget $25 for a cab back to MB. save $1 a day between now and your trip and you got it covered!

Cab is best bet. Lots right there. And only a couple bucks more to go all the way to M-Bay if your pockets were "emptied" earlier. LOL!
