So glad to have found this board! This question may have been asked already but I couldn't find it when I searched. I know the bus is the least expensive way to get downtown (took it on our last trip) but how expensive is a cab ride? Uber or Lyft make that run? Thank you!

The last time I took a cab (a few years ago) from mid strip to downtown was like $28 if I remember right. It seemed really high at the time. I just did a quick fare estimate on uber.com and it lists $11-$14 for uberx and $24-$32 for UberXL

If you don't mind a half mile walk from Luxor. Walk to Tropicana Ave and catch the WAX bus just outside NYNY. $2 and never crowded. It makes 3 stops and you are at Binion's and Fremont St. $1 if you are a senior. 20 minutes tops.

    Similar rides - compare

It was $14 for Lyft from Mandalay Bay to 4 Queens November 2016.
(After coupon code and including $5 tip.)
Driver used Freeway - no surge.
    Took around 20 minutes.

Cab from Mirage to The D cost $38 with tip.
    expressway.

Limo from the D to Linq was $40 all-in
driver used all back roads east of strip.

I know people don't like the bus but I was amazed when I found out about this. We did it on our last trip and it was right around the same time as a cab would have taken. A whole heck of a lot faster than the the normal strip bus. Getting from the airport to downtown by bus saved us so much money I was amazed it's not much more popular.

As to Uber - you go to their website - or the app - and look up what the pricing is without booking a ride.
