Well... I was fortunate to have one final couple day stay at my beloved Hard Rock early last week. They'll be closing the day after the Super Bowl. I was there just before AVN, so the property was quite lively and fun with many of the attendees arriving a few days early, Pretty much everything was still open.

I was bummed that I was unable to pick-up a Pink Tack shirt for @Breeze147. The waitress there told me they'd been sold out for a few weeks. I did pick-up a bottle of Jack Daniels Single Barrel at 35% off from their on-site Hudson store, even though it was still over $50. I appreciate that Virgin has done an outstanding job of keeping the place "not looking like it's closing". Everything in my suite was fresh, clean and well-stocked as always.

I'm also happy to learn that almost all of the staff I've grown so close to over the past 10 years plans to return when the rebranding concludes in the Sept/Oct timeframe. Really wish I could be there for the final party night, as they plan to have live bands throughout the property this final weekend... but glad I got to make one last visit.

I enjoyed the HRC when I gambled there a couple times back in the early 2000s. It is a shame the issues with ownership caused it to fail and end up being shut down. IIRC, those issues popped up pretty quickly once they opened and there was always this feeling that it closing was inevitable. I am looking forward to seeing how Virgin does with a hotel/casino in Vegas. I have stayed at a couple of their hotels in the past and they are very nice. The cost will be interesting to watch. They are not directly on the strip so I am not sure they can charge for the rooms with no strip access.

Fun place to chill to rock music and play low limit BJ in the 1990s. Didn't go much the final decade outside of hitting the Goose Island bar for Bourbon County each December. Seemed a bit "Kiddieland" to me, catering to the 18-24 year old crowd (Rehab/Weed), likely also due to the fact I'm older as well.

Will check out the reopen, hope Virgin does well with the property. Always good to have independent operators throughout the Vegas valley.

Never made it to the Hard Rock, now I wish I would have made a visit over the years.

There's still a Hard Rock restaurant somewhere on the strip, right...?

There definitely is one somewhere, as some lads I know from my hometown are on a Stag-Do in Vegas, and were posting pics from a Hard Rock Cafe at the weekend.

I think it might be somewhere near Caesars shops, and vaguely recall driving past it on my scooter on the way to Joe's in December.

It wasn't the Hard Rock Cafe I saw near Caesars. Too much wine, possibly :)

The world-renowned Las Vegas Strip is a one-of-a-kind destination with casinos, hotels, restaurants, bars, entertainment venues, and attractions, and since 2009 has been the home Hard Rock Cafe. Our cafe is located on the famed Las Vegas Boulevard in the Showcase Mall, next to the MGM Grand and across from the Park MGM and T Mobile Arena.

No worries. Hope that it's good :)

I need to explore that side of the strip, it looks like they've developed it quite a bit.

It's probably like the others. Lol. Just for some reason we always look to go to one if possible when we're on a trip....

Hard Rock was certainly a different look and atmosphere than the strip casinos. Saw a few concerts there. Will be interesting to see what it looks like once it changes over. My goodness, all that rock memorabilia gone!

Isor was a fun place. However, I had a lot of problems with their dice crew. They seemed more interested in skirt and pants chasing... I don't properly handling the table. I got so pissed off. Some years back. I left a penny for a tip and didn't play dice there for like 5 years. I loved that. 24/7 coffee shop.... And they're always was incredible eye candy there..perhaps some looking for sugar daddies or mommies?????LOL... So that would exclude me with my limited budget, LOL.

I used to love going there. It was always nice and dark and one could easily find the person they arrived with. I've brought back a lot of hurricane glasses over the years from there.

So is anything happening to the HRC property? Anyone/company planning to buy it redevelop somehow? I always wonder why HRC didn’t make huge presence in Vegas! To me it makes totally sense Hardrock cafe casino&resort in Vegas they should have invested some $$$ and could have made huge impact in Vegas - it just seems perfect HardRock (lol names says all)

I think Virgin bought it awhile back, operated it as Hard Rock for awhile, but the plans since acquisition were always to close, modify/update, and reopen branded as Virgin. Now underway
