Shouldn't brooklyngirl be back from her trip already? She'd been anticipating this trip for months, I wonder how it all went...especially with her airline ticket fiasco?? [ November 19, 2002, 07:58 AM: Message edited by: Lmadrid ]
good call... it has been well over a week now and i didn't think her trip was that long. i figured to be reading a 3 page trip report by now. i guess it's safe to assume she made it out, but with the airline fiasco, maybe she's still out there...and hopefully winning!
I just posted my report! I got home at about 2AM on Sun. I took a couple of days off from work and from everything else. Lots of activity and very little sleep in Vegas! By the way Danny, how did that 1 day trip go on Sept. 11? [ November 20, 2002, 10:08 AM: Message edited by: brooklyngirl ]
hey bkgirl.. sounds like you had a fabulous trip! brings a tear to my eye after hearing how much you did and almost flying for free! i remember my first trip to vegas about 3 years ago and hitting just about every casino on the strip...glad you saw most of them. "O"... what more can you say about it? i had to see it twice before seeing "Mystere" and then deciding "M" was not equal to what "O" had to offer. then again, that's jmho. sept. 11... surprised you remembered, but thanks for asking. buddy and i got to jfk at 6:45am for the 7:45, got on with no problem...flight was about 3/4 full and i was a little surprised given the $1 fare. went right to the bellagio, checked in our backpacks (yes, packed a bathing suit and extra clothes in case the flight on the return was booked and they asked for volunteers to be bumped...no such luck, darnit). got tin at 10:45am vegas time, hit the tables immediately, up $400 in 1 hour, then down (of course) $200 after 2 hours. gambled til about 4pm and then decided to eat at the bellagio cafe, which is right next to the arboretum... it's really really nice there. the food is on par with the Grand Luxe Cafe at the Venetian, but it doesn't have the huge variety or the cheesecake...but it's really beautiful inside, especially if you get a table next to all the flowers. hit the tables from 5-7pm, then got our bags back (no swimming) and walked across the street to the aladdin where we gambled til 10pm. got to the airport at around 10:30, asked if they were taking overbooked but no such luck. hit the 11:30pm and got to ny at 7:30am on a half-full airplane. right to work...yeah! gambling costs (losses): $700 food: $ 25 R-T plane ticket (w/fees): $ 19.50 story value: Priceless wow, just did a 2+ month old trip report! glad to have you back, moderating in full force!
Wow! What a story. I don't think I could handle it. You're the only person that I know of that has gone to Vegas and back (from NY) in one day. I'm glad you had fun. So when are you going back?
seems like, "when are you going back" is the prevailing question on this board! i was thinking about the week between xmas and new years, but then i'm booking to cancun on jan 1, so that would be a bit much. i did have a great time in that crazy one day trip but think once in a lifetime is enough. in all likelihood, probably off to LV back in march! yeah... but in the meantime, may need an AC fix...hehehe. hall and oates are playing at the taj next friday!!
I know what you mean. We're planning a trip to AC either for my bd this weekend or maybe next weekend since we have the Friday after thanksgiving off. I do like hall and oates, so who knows?
back to AC so soon after vegas?? wow... hard core! actually, i have really cut down on my AC trips cause it falls so short of what vegas has to offer. just looked into flights to vegas on or around 1/1/03. we'll see... where do you stay down in AC? i usually stay at the taj or ballys... if you're there next weekend, your kiss is on my list...
Well it looks like we're going tomorrow for my BD so I guess H&O is out. Don't forget to check Jet Blue. I believe they started flying from JFK to LAS last week. I heard their planes are nice and confortable. Good luck!
