BRITNEY Spears didn’t choose to leave X Factor — she was allegedly fired, according to a new report.

Sources say someone in Spears’ camp “leaked” that she quit the Fox talent show in a bid to head off her own firing.

“Obviously it saves her the humiliation of being fired,” a source said.

“Everyone knows Simon Cowell was not happy with her bland performance on the show. It’s been said before: he wanted crazy Britney, she gave him Britney on sleeping pills.

“Over the holidays Simon and the production team discussed the judge’s lineup for next year and Britney was not part of their plans.”

Yes. Highly disturbed. Shaved her head and was photographed beating a car with an umbrella. Attacked photographers inside the Wynn and threw her child's baby bottle at them. Banned and locked out of the Four Seasons for her ongoing crazy antics there.

Yes, her father is profiting from her ongoing career (at last report, he pays himself $1,000 less per month than Britney gets), just like the parent-bloodsuckers who gave birth to Lindsay Lohan, Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus and Jessica/Ashlee Simpson. So was her phoney fiance/manager, who was never more than a few feet from her to make sure she didn't erupt again. He finally decided that he'd had enough of the romance charade and severed his ties to return to a legitimate management career for people with actual talent.

Heavily medicated means nothing? How about the staggering, stumbling, and forgetting to move her lips at all while lip-synching during her big comeback at the Palms in September 2007.

Hero of the people....you lamented that people only remember the negative things about her, as if she actually did ANYTHING worthy of praise. She's a talent-free mannequin that rakes in absurd amounts of money for doing next to nothing.

Let's leave this nobody in the yellowing old tabloids where she belongs, and free up the Vegas stages for individuals worthy of being called a performer.

Damn Sam...your comments are harsh and leave no question as to your point of view. I say Britney Spears is still one of the biggest pop stars in the world and would still be a draw for a short residency on the strip.

No question the world would be watching closely however, to see if she could withstand the rigors of nightly performances and if she's truly turned her life around. Many performers have gone "off the rails" during their career, some managed to get it together and other didn't... I think the jury's still out on Spears.

Harsh and wrong. All the crap she did was pre help/meds and since has had no trouble except what Sam will find or belive but that's how it goes with limelight.

I don't mind taking the unpopular stance. Never have and never will. I'll save my praise for those who warrant it, people who do things that actually matter or have some talent to defend. To those who profit like she does, there is nothing flattering to say.

    A couple things:

Even though is she doing better on her meds, the courts feel she will never be well enough to not have a conservator. It's not completely clear what her diagnosis is, but whatever it is it's pretty serious. So yes, she is under control but this isn't a happy recovery story.

Her father didn't want to be her conservator. But her mother has screwed her up so much that she probably couldn't be trusted with the job. At the time, he was the only person in her life who could be trusted to take care of her. I don't know what is going on with her finances but my fear is that things were so screwed up before that she may not be able to ever just stop and take care of herself.

At the end of the day, she is not a great singer. Overall she can give a great performance but many people feel that medicated Britney is like watching a robot going through the motions. And for those who are not her diehard fans, her tour performances before she broke down left much to be desired.

She could certainly do a week long residency somewhere with a lot of hoopla and success. Anyone could sign her up for that tomorrow. But they want a deal that is structured like the CP headliners for even bigger money. And I don't think she has the appropriate fan base, talent or real desire to deliver a show that is worth all that.

I don't hate the poor child. I hate what's been done to her over her career. I am glad things are stabilized but I can't credit her with that because there is no way to know if she understands that being on her meds is best for her or her kids. I thank the courts for intervening at a time when so many other celebrities in her shoes were allowed go down the drain. But this is a big business move and I don't see a genuine upside for any casino that takes her on.

How could anyone forget mama-bloodsucker Lynn Spears, whose laughable guidebook on "parenting", ghost-written by a freelance writer in an attempt to further profit from her daughter's undeserved success, was "delayed indefinitely" by the publishers once it was revealed that Britney's equally-untalented 16-year-old unmarried sister was pregnant and kicked off her Nickelodeon show in 2007.

I think booking a performer doesn't have as much to do with talent as it does making a profit. If she will make [fill in the blank here] money, she'll get the gig.

I also think she is a victim of childhood stardom. Without knowing all the details of her last fifteen years, I will dare to say her treatment from her parents/management was a form of abuse. And I will put as much blame on her of her choices in adulthood as I would a victim of sexual, emotional and physical teenage abuse.

    Good luck to Britney, though.

2008 She was committed to the psychiatric ward. The court placed her under temporary conservatorship of her father James Spears and attorney Andrew Wallet, giving them complete control of her assets. She was released five days later.

In December of 2012, Forbes magazine named her music's top-earning woman of 2012, with estimated earnings of $58 million.

Since she got some help and on meds in 08 as far as I know she hasn't been in any trouble and as far as Forbes is concerned she's not doing badly it seems.
Now from what I've read she quit x factor to work on her eighth studio album but I guess saying there was trouble is better to read but then again maybe it's true but from her track record since 08 she hasn't been. People screw up for lots of reasons ie robert downey jr but can get it together.

If we only wrote about the things we like, then critics and trip advisors would have no purpose, and half the comments on this board would be gone. I have an opinion, and provided reasons to back it up. As for why I've continued on this topic: if people didn't shower money over these manufactured puppets, maybe there wouldn't be as many messed-up former child stars dying of drug overdoses, baring their crotches to media cameras, sinking into cesspools of alcohol and insanity, subjecting their own children to chaotic home lives, and making dangerous outrageous behavior something for our own children to mimic. How many of our own teens have witnessed their idols go from squeaky clean role models to being strapped to gurneys and put into mental lockdown? Ever hear of Demi Lovato? Simon Cowell hired her, alongside Britney, just for the ratings and potential on-air meltdowns. It was a blatant abuse of disturbed individuals for profit. The pattern needs to stop.

Duh. Have you read this board??? That is what people write about---things they like and things they don't like.

That "temporary" conservatorship is still in effect 5 years later.

The Britney Spears conservatorship saga has nearly reached its fifth year anniversary. We all remember her shaved head, public meltdowns, and wild paparazzi photographs. Her career, her relationship with her children, and even her life were all spinning dangerously out of control.
