Here's my brief trip report.
It was a good trip and served its purpose to take care of my gambling
jones.
jones (jOnz) n. A thing done often. An addiction, esp. to sports, gambling,
and other enjoyable acts. Borrowed from the drug-ladened 60's and 70's,
and from the cartoon "Fat-Albert".
FRIDAY
Pack the family and leave the Carlsbad coast at noon. 74 degrees and
perfect.
Arrive at the bro-in-law's abode at 4:30. 102 degrees and windy, but it
was a dry wind.
Put the kids to bed and head out to Fiesta Henderson.
A buddy, Jeff from AZ, was there.
We gamble pretty much the same except he's way more serious.
Played the following games until 3:30 AM: .10, and .25 FPDW and craps.
Hit the sack after the late night grub session (steak and eggs)
Gambling: +100
Food and accommodations: 0
SATURDAY
Up at 8:00 AM, and head back over to bro-in-law's to watch the kids.
Back to Fiesta by noon. By now, I'm pretty brain-dead.
Played the following games until 3:30 PM: .10, and .25 FPDW and craps.
Hit 4 deuces on dimes ($100).
Good pre-champagne brunch/dinner buffet craps sessions for +300.
Since the brunch/dinner transition is at 4:00, this works out perfect.
We get the brunch stuff (crab legs) AND the dinner stuff (prime-rib).
Gave back a little during the post-lunch/dinner buffet craps sessions
Met the new VP/GM of Fiesta… He's younger than I am.
After some Let it Ride, its back over to bro-in-law's at 8:30 PM.
Put the kids to bed and take my wife out on a date to The Orleans.
Players club is giving away window shades and mini fans just for the
asking.
Played FPDW for about 20 minutes.
Wife played her $40 on those stupid nickel games (WOF and Reel'em in).
Drop off wife at 11:00 and I head back out to Henderson.
Played Let it Ride, BJ, and craps until 2:30AM.
Gambling: -100
Food and accommodations: 0
Gas: 25
SUNDAY
Up at 8:00 AM, and back over to bro-in-law's.
Pick up the family for the 9:30 church service.
After some post-church activities, I finally escape by 2:30.
Head over to Barbary Coast to watch Fat Elvis.
Vegas Sue, GVNV & CC were there.
Good show, and he sure is big.
Back over to Fiesta to eat dinner with LVNorm, Andrea, Gary, and CC.
After dinner, I head over the .05 FPDW and hit 4 ducks THREE times in 1
hour.
Head over to the 0.25 FPDW and take my initial $20 to $200.
Head over to the 0.50 FPDW and looked at my watch… 4:00 AM!!!???
Gambling: +300
Food and accommodations: 0
MONDAY
Up at 7:30 AM and back over to bro-in-law's.
Pack up the family and head over to The Orleans for their anniversary
buffet.
Leave LV at 11:30 AM. 102 degrees and windy, but it was a dry wind.
Arrive at the Carlsbad coast at 4:45 PM. 74 degrees and perfect.
Gambling: 0
Buffet for 8 (4 adults and 4 children): ~$25
Gas: 25
SUMMARY
Net gain for the trip = >$300
Total sleep in Vegas: ~13 hours
Already starting to jones… T-24 days (50% sure)
