That was one of the greatest and most insane hours of television I ever saw in my life. I kept wondering how they would make Hank's death climactic by saving it for the beginning of this episode instead of the end of the last one and sure enough they pulled it off amazingly. It was nice seeing Hank go down like a man, still alpha until the very end. Very stark contrast to Walt who quivers like a spineless schoolgirl anytime there's a gun to his head. I like how they described it on Talking Bad, if that was Walt under the gun he would have started offering up sexual favors to Uncle Jack in order to let him live. LOL.

So now Walt has destroyed the only thing that mattered to him when he first started cooking meth. Let's see if he can climb out of his living hell or be forced to wallow in it. The only allies he had left were a bunch of psychotic inbred white supremacists who basically just threw him a bone out of pity, and I think its pretty clear he'll be going to war with those guys now too. I do give him props though for that phone call to Skyler at the end, playing that little ruse for the cops was a decent way to help protect her.

    Can't wait till next week.

best episode ever!!! walt always messes up when he isnt prepared for something, then he goes back to becoming a weakling and a scaredy cat. when he has time to prepare for something he becomes heisenberg and has smart plans. so now he lost everything and will go away and have time to plan and will come back as heisenberg. i know the show creator says walt is evil and should suffer but i think one way they will make him suffer is to have him stay as heisenberg with no family instead of being walt with a family. just my 2 cents. :peace:

Per Todd, Jack's gang will be looking for Jesse's interview DVD at Hank's house. I think that will happen next episode and could possibly mean the end of Marie. There could also be some time warp scene for Walt to grow hair and beard in New Hampshire.

Speculation: If the DVD is not found will Jack visit Walt's house and possibly kill Skyler, Jr, Holly? Revenging his family could be the reason Walt is coming back. After this episode it doesn't seem likely that Walt would come back to free Jesse.

I love it how they have Jesse attached to a dog run cable. That's priceless.

I'm at the point now where I hope they all die except Walt, especially jesse, what a little worm he turned out to be. How would you like to be rj mitte(flynn/junior)? He's on the show for 5 years and finally gets one decent scene, I guess that's better than nothing. I still think the ricin is to kill lydia, she'll need to be killed after Jacks gang.

For fans of the last night's episode, the director was Rian Johnson, director of the movie Looper (awesome, imo). He also did two other Breaking Bad episodes, Fly and the season 5 opener.

Todd is seriously cold. Saying "Sorry for your loss" like 1 minute after his uncle Jack iced Hank. Great character, great lines, but jeez is that guy demented and detached.

Why did they keep Jesse alive? I know they want him to help them cook to raise the quality of their product, but I thought the plan was to "interview" him (which they obviously did) and then "complete the job" after that?

Wasn't that what they and Heisenberg agreed to?

i think they want to have jesse teach todd to cook also, remember that todd wants to make lydia happy. they also didnt go find the video at hanks house yet so maybe they are waiting to make sure they have it.

i hope walt comes back and kills all the ****s. so far walt never has any balls unless it is for money and he can do something from far away or its against little kids,he needs to show some balls for once in his life up close and personal the way hank and jesse do. i think what might happen is his family is staying at hanks house when the ****s come and they kill everyone. so for once in his life walt gets some balls and comes back for revenge.

Right, and remember that even though Todd is doing a decent job by normal methamphetamine standards (I think his is around 75%), the Blue Sky that Walt usually makes is 99%, and Jesse hit 96% on his own. So it's not just that Todd "wants to make Lydia happy", but Lydia has a vested interest in improving the quality of meth that's being produced, regardless of who it's coming from, and Lydia has the potential to be pretty dangerous.

This is unrelated to the previous posts but its worth remembering sometimes that hardly any time has actually passed in this entire series. The entire time from the pilot to episode 4 of the current season was only 1 year in the show's storyline. The entire time from the pilot to the present is about 18 months. A whole lot of crazy stuff has happened to all these guys in a very short period, and like Scarface, as soon as Walt/Heisenberg reached the top he pretty much got knocked down and destroyed. Unlike Gus, whose backstory suggests he wore the crown for years and years.

There's been a few times where Walt did things on his own. The first was when he went to Tuco's compound and blew the place up after Tuco kicked the shit out of Jesse. Granted, that was money related since Tuco ripped Jesse off, but he still did it himself. Another one is when Jesse was going up to the two dealers and Walt showed up and killed one of them when he ran them over, then got out of the car and shot the other one in the head when he realized he wasn't dead yet.
