I got a PM from someone who wanted to share the information on the Boyd Vacations Hawaii website: https://www.boydvacationshawaii.com/ So, sounds like the website will be back tomorrow. Refunds are being issued for bookings through June 30. It also seems to say that if you purchased insurance, that will be refunded too, but it's worded awkwardly. I will admit that Hawaii is not one of the states I'm actively monitoring, so I'm not entirely sure where they are in their COVID Plan. I did find this Forbes article: https://www.forbes.com/sites/willmcgough/2020/05/21/covid-19-update-its-still-not-time-to-travel-to-hawaii/#6ea791c36c71 But that doesn't answer questions about when Hawaiians will be able to travel to the mainland. Does anyone have a link for something that answers that?
Here are links to the latest from the governor. Basically we know nothing..... https://governor.hawaii.gov/newsroom/latest-news/office-of-the-governor-news-release-governor-ige-outlines-re-opening-recovery-plan-extends-14-day-quarantine-for-travelers-to-hawaii-inter-island-travelers/ https://governor.hawaii.gov/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/2005088-ATG_Eighth-Supplementary-Proclamation-for-COVID-19-distribution-signed.pdf
Thanks for those links, WDMJB. You're right. Nothing in there about when Hawaiians can come to Vegas again.
As soon as the stupid mandatory quarantine rule is over (June 30) I'm sure there will be a lot of us booking flights. We're all itching to go back!
Hope this isn't inappropriate, but looking at the Johns Hopkins University site, Hawaii has had very few cases, which is one advantage of being on islands. They have been very aggressive in their response. https://coronavirus.jhu.edu/us-map
Do we know 'for certain' yet, whether or not the downtown properties will be opening with the "first wave" of openings?
@Ty could answer that definitively as he is departing shortly and seeking rooms. I say no but only from back and forth emails. And sonya has updates on the 19’.
I haven't seen anything specific about downtown. I expect after the governor's announcement today, we'll see more casinos announcing their planned opening date.
