Boxofbirds 5/9–5/12 Live Trip Report!

Missed the Craps meetup. But hit my $50 match play and basically doubled my buy-in at Downtown Grand!

 

There was some sort of mix up with my room. About a month ago I called and was told The D wasn’t available, so I called and booked a room at Golden Gate. I show up this morning and they can’t find my reservation. The agent called around and turns out I am at The D! Glad it worked out that way for a nicer room!

 

Found an ATM that doesn’t charge fees for my credit Union. It was at a super sketch 7-11 by El Cortez. Would not recommend, felt like I was going to get jumped

Earned more than enough points playing Craps to get the $9.99 prime rib gamblers special at Freedom Beat. Asked for medium rare and got closer to medium, but it was still perfectly tender.

I wouldn’t pay the $21.99 regular price for it, but for $9.99 it works!

 

It’s not that bad in the daytime is it? We have used that 7/11 often in the past. Wouldn’t recommend at night though.

Didn’t know about prime rib special. Gonna have to do that on my trip. Is it just the meat, mashed potatoes and carrots/asparagus?

Yup, just as pictured. I enjoyed it, the jus was flavorless, but otherwise I thought it was good, especially for $9.99. You only need to earn 25 points to get the coupon from the kiosk. They also have a couple other meals that are half priced with the coupon

 

Coupon run went well… ok so the coupons not so much, but the gambling went well!

As mentioned above, won $50 match play at Downtown Grand, plus some more playing Craps

At El Cortez I turned $10 freeplay into $12.50, but lost my $25 match play

At The D I got the $25 “Say Hi To Matthew” match play and had $20 freeplay from my monthly offer. Freeplay sucked, only made $2.50. Also was dealt 4 to a Royal and a flush, broke the flush and got nada. Also lost my $25 match play, and lost about $200 at Craps until a shooter had a great roll and ended up ahead $350.

Had LVA $10 freeplay each at 4 Queens and Binions, turned those into $16 or so.

Finally had $10 monthly freeplay at Plaza, plus another $10 from LVA and a $25 match play. $20 freeplay only made $9.75, but I won the $25 match play and $150 total playing Craps!

 

In my continuing quest to only eat where I haven’t before I got the chicken salad sandwich and potato salad from Saginaws. Tasty and filing, couldn’t finish the chips!

 

Would be way worse at night, I think it was the random dude that followed me across the parking lot and asked me to buy him something to eat, and the tweaker who was way too close to me when I was using the ATM that set me off. There were people around and bright daylight, but still freaked me out a bit
