Boxofbirds 1/9-1/12 Almost Live Trip Report!!

In about 24 hours the BF and I will be arriving in Vegas at the Aria for three nights of drinking, wandering, eating, and degenerate gambling. This is my sixth trip to Vegas, I have a lot of catching up to do to many you! As I did last time, I will attempt to post here live as often as the tapatalk and wifi gods allow.

Loose plans for the trip so far:
- Eating at some of my old favorites, and hopefully some new restaurants
- As many free drinks as my liver can handle
- Finally catching O at Bellagio
- Gambling [Who am I kidding? This should be first on the list]
- Meet some fellow VMB'ers, got my wristband
- Casino hopping downtown, didn't get a chance to last trip
- Expanding the chip collection
- Using some ACG coupons downtown and MyVegas rewards on The Strip
- My first hand-pay? [How has this not happened yet?]
- Hopefully pulling off better numbers than last time...
- Whatever else Vegas brings our way

On another note, my lunch yesterday cost exactly $7.77. That's got to be a sign, right?

Sleep the night before can be tough. Then you get to Vegas already tired from a lack of sleep. Try a dose of Nyquil with a couple of beers. It does wonders on the inability to sleep the night before. Just make sure you here the alarm in the morning to get up.

 

Good luck! Hope that 777 is good luck. I need one of those hand pays as well. Been 12 times and never had one.....I am not a complete low roller but compared to a lot of guys on here you could say that. Just want that Royal Flush! JUST ONCE

 

That usually does the trick, but also sounds like a recipe for missing my early flight, lol... especially with my history of sleeping through alarms.

Oh man, hope I don't have to wait that many trips for a hand pay!

 

To be fair I do not play slots at all. Just the occasional $100 here and there. I play a lot of video poker though. Vegas for me is a social experience and always go with a lot of people. Maybe I will focus more this trip on slots and a possible big win!

Good luck! I love Aria...even though I never win there! There seems to be a good number of VMBers in town this weekend, so hopefully we can all meet up. I think Packer is trying to get people together at Wynn.

Got longhauled by cabbie even though I specifically said "No highway." Remained calm and gave him the normal fair instead of the $27 he was charging. Able to check in early at Aria. Now time to relax a bit and head out for supplies, set up my brand new marker at Aria, and get this vacation on a roll!

 

Love that picture! It's a reminder just how much prime property the gold course at Wynn/Encore occupies.

Easing into the gambling with some VP and some slots. Converted $25 MyVegas freeplay to $15 cash. Then lost $250 pretty quick on $1 triple play 8/5 BP. Got 1 4oak later on a quarter JOB progressive. But that's it. Stayed even on slots thanks to a $160 hit on Top Dollar. Put some money down on the Seahawks as well, looking like an idiot the first time at a sports book, but the staff was nice to this newbie though.

Headed to happy hour then the early show of O!

O was amazing, as expected. Got great seats in third row center. I do have to say KA is still my favorite!
