I have an upcoming stay at the Boulder Station. I liked the casino when I stopped by in the spring and got a decent price on 4 days. I would like to hear from members that have stayed there what they thought of the rooms and the hotel in general. Thanks in advance.

always one of those touch and go issues, depends on what your priorities are when it comes to vegas. no. 1 on our list is vp selection.

the wife and I have averaged 12 nights a year for the last 4-5 years at boulder and find it 'comfortable.'

    in no particular order:

    1) excellent video poker selection
    2) compact layout (though it is a long walk from check-in to elevators
    3) good buffet (though it seems to be popular with locals and lines can be v-e-r-y long at times); also would recommend 24-hour coffee shop; mexican restaurant, and italian (closed mon. and tues.)
    4) bar area off the main lobby is quiet, nice place to have a drink and play bar video poker
    5) assume you have a car, if so easy access to the 515 fwy loop. if not, would not recommend walking anywhere at this time of year (too hot); it's a pretty good jaunt down boulder hwy to arizona charlie's and further on to sam's town. if you are someone who needs to get out and walk, i would only do so in the daytime.
    6) rooms are very basic; clean and beds are comfortable. if you are familiar with other stations casinos, rooms are not as nice as Red Rock or GVR but on a par with Palace Station and better than texas station or the fiesta in henderson. they seem to skimp on towels but we always tip a room maid and they'll give you as many as you need.

be sure and get a player's card; always some kind of promotion going on. two of the last three times we stayed I won $400 one time and $500 the next on drawings. helped offset my vp losses (LOL).

also movie theatres, small pool area off the room elevator area in back, usual fast food outlets plus a starbucks. drink service on the floor can be spotty at times.

    hope that helps

Thanks Oldaquaman very helpful information. I will be renting a car so getting around won't be a problem. I know what you mean about the walk though. I was staying at Sam's Town in March and walked to the Boulder Station and back. I think Sam's is around 2 miles from Boulder Station and would be brutal in the heat. I did like the layout of the Casino and agree the buffet was good. The nice woman at the cashier suggested I use my points for the buffet which saved me paying for lunch.

The Boulder Station was nice. Like previously mentioned by Oldaquaman, the room was clean and the bed was quite comfortable. I must say the food was good and reasonably priced compared to the strip. I am not sure if I will stay there again though as it is quite isolated. I cancelled the rent-a-car and used the bus.

When they first opened they had a shuttle to Palace Station and, I think, the strip. Don't know why they stopped it.

That would probably help them attract a few people.
I won't stay at isolated casinos as I like the option to walk elsewhere to break things up or being able to jump on a shuttle like the Sams Town one.
That's why I like downtown so much. Always wanted to go to Boulder Station though since they have so many great paytables on VP.
