Question?

I'm going to be a guest of a friend staying at a 2 bedroom sky suite at Aria. The reservation and everything is under his name. I just got a comp offer for free nights, free play and resort credit. Is it frowned upon to take the offer while Im staying at the sky suite as a guest of some one elses reservation?

It probably is frowned upon but I would think that all they care about is that your play is up to the level of the offer. You might need to mess up the bed and leave some toiletries in your comp room just to show occupancy. I've never done what you're describing but someone who has will probably be along.

It depends. Some comp offers REQUIRE a stay. Some do not. Call your host/VIP and ask them if they will give you the comps without a room.

If you have to get a room, your friend might want to switch to a 1 BR suite unless his play is so high it does not matter. He will have to "work off" the upfront comps before getting back end comps.

It is also possible his host can add you to the reservation to "release" your comps.

Bottom line - you have to call to see if YOUR offer requires a room stay or not.

He doesnt have a host. We are splitting the cost of the sky suite. He had a really good year and celebrating. . All the room charges for the sky suite will be in his name the only time my name is given is for the airport pick up.

My offer is for 2 free night 75 free play and 100 resort credit. It expires in July. My trip is in May the only time I can take this offer.

I can't imagine they know you are staying in his suite. Lol I mean they deal with a lot of people and for some reason I doubt that it's going to even come up. What are you waiting for? Book your offer and get winning on the free play! Lol

Hold on Jimbo! I (and most others) assumed that since he had a 2 BR suite, it was comped - not that YOU ARE PAYING FOR IT.

Time to start over. Since you are getting a FREE ROOM, why not take advantage of it. Maybe you can just pay an "upgrade" fee to change your comp offer to a 2BR suite. Check and see if that will save you money. How much are you paying for the 2BR suite?

And, if you decide to still pay for the suite - is he a regular Mlife player? Maybe putting all the charges on your card will get you something.

Absolutely this ^^. I had a few Mirage stays awhile back where I was comped for the deluxe room but we wanted to stay in the penthouse suites. I called the vip number on the offer and let them know that - they applied the comp for the deluxe room to the suite cost.

He's an mlife member gold. hes getting the mlife discount

I called on the offer and the 2 comp nights are based on calendar availability. The days that Im already there the first 2 days are discounted 140 and 190 respectevly. the 3rd day would becomped. I booked the comp day. So a 1 night stay im able to get the free play and resort credit.

So I thought that the offer would be for any 2 days would be comped. Nope only specific days on their calendar.
