There are rules differences that vary by casino. Anyone know where the best games are?

Played at Cosmo before, but I could not find a table last time I was there.

I'm with steelcity, I see it too at casino royale, Paris and Mb. What's the draw for you guys? What exactly are the rules? I've never bothered to learn the game so I'm totally blind to it

You play two hands of equal bets (so a $10 table costs $20 to play). Each bet gets dealt a normal blackjack hand, but then the play has the option to switch their top two cards with each other (still using the search four original cards). It then plays out like normal blackjack. The catch is, a dealer's 22 pushes all hands. A natural blackjack is only if it's dealt before switching, so switching an ace to a hand with a ten only counts as 21 and is subject to a dealer push.

Oh, and the draw for me is that regular blackjack basic strategy has become second nature to me, so this game makes me think a bit more. It also seems like it's easier to play longer, since you constantly find opportunities to make one strong hand and one weak hand - but I don't have the math to support that.

I love playing it and seem to win more than lose although I am certain that would not be the case over the long haul - but it's a fun break from regular blackjack

The good thing about BJ switch is they can't mess with the rules very much because there is never surrender and blackjack always pays 1:1.

The worst place to play is Excalibur because they don't allow resplitting aces (although it's rare you would play a hand where you would split aces in BJ Switch anyway...).

All other casinos pretty much have the same set of standard rules and allow splitting aces up to 4 hands.

The key rule that I'm referring to is whether a blackjack (or a switched blackjack) immediately wins. For example if you are dealt blackjack, does that win immediately (unless the dealer also has bj). Or if you switch to a bj does that automatically win or can you push against a dealer drawing to 21.

Only a natural is an automatic win. A switched BJ becomes a 21, from what I've seen.

I've never seen a switched BJ win automatically, only a natural.

Well, maybe I have seen it, but it was a newbie dealer who didn't seem to know what they were doing. lol

I don't think any strip casinos allow a switched BJ to win automatically. Maybe the Venetian? (I've never played there). Certainly none of the MGM properties have that rule.

Paris and everywhere else I've played it, a switched BJ is a 21 and if dealer has BJ then you will lose both hands before you have chance for at least a push unless it is dealt before switch. 99% sure on that.
