Birthday Week The Big 4-0 Live TR 12/11-12/17

So here I sit a mere 24 hours from take-off, ready for another adventure in my adopted city. Yesterday I turned 40. 20 years ago I thought that milestone was impossible, a joke, a point in life where it's all over. 20 years later I sit here shaking my head at just how fast those years go by... I spent my 20th bday in vegas. It was my first time there. I dove from Tampa, FL with my then 70 year-old Grandmother 5 days across the southern US. We had a blast. She smoked the whole time and cursed more than I did that trip. Vegas is full of great memories like that for me. Having a December birthday means I have one more reason to treat myself to Sin City.

My last trip in September was by most measures a huge success. I'll post the link to it for those who missed out but I took my 23 year old GF there for the first time. Before that trip she never understood my fascination. She couldn't grasp why i'd spend a whole sunday morning on here reading trip reports. NOW she gets it. Now she is hooked like me and after only 3 months she can't wait to get back either.

So here are the details and plans so far. Of course we never stick to our origional plans (except for things i have pre-purchased tix too).
Newark, NJ to LAS non stop on United
Staying @ NYNY. She loves it there so I compromise. Last trip I tried the $20 trick and we were upgraded. I will try that again...
Seeing LOVE at the Mirage
Day trip to Hoover Dam and Red Rock for some light hiking
High Roller since we missed out last time
Sunday night football at a sportsbook with the Cowboys losing
Get some Silver Strikes
Food....Oh my god will there be food!!
LOTS and LOTS of gambling

Last trip ended on a BIG hot streak. So hot we almost missed our plane. I hope the luck continues upon our return lol.

The last time I did the live TR (also my 1st time lol) I REALLY enjoyed it. I loved to read the comments and suggestions from everyone on here. You all are a great source of info and experience and have some of the BEST suggestions. The feedback I got was just awesome and made my trip that much better. I will do my best to stay live and post lots of pics. I know today will drag on as I count every single second until takeoff. Thanks for following along!

Good luck! You sound like us 5 years ago. Take gf to Vegas for the first time for her b-day in September and end up going back that December. And we've done 11 more trips together since. [emoji5]
