    My Trip Report

My husband had to be in Vegas for work, so we are leaving a few days early to fit in a birthday trip for me. Let me tell you this trip is MUCH needed! I am so ready to get away from real life for a few days!!

I used this trip as motivation and I set a weight loss goal for myself in February. I had hoped to lose 30 pounds by the time we leave, and while I'm close I didn't quite make it. I'm down 22 pounds and since we have only a couple of days until take off I don't think I'll hit 30. Overall I feel great, and I'm ready to splurge on some good food and REALLY ready for some good drinks!! Hopefully I don't return home having found my 22 lost pounds LOL. But I'm sure some of the pounds will return with me since I plan to splurge and enjoy both food and drink in Vegas.

We leave on Friday April 28th, flying Delta airlines. This will be our 1st time flying first class, so I am looking forward to that. It's a short 2.5 hour flight, but it will still be a fun splurge. We are flying out of SEA and arriving into LAS a bit later than I would like (around 10pm). Since we are arriving so late we will probably eat dinner at Seatac airport while waiting for our departure. Once in Vegas will be using Lyft as our transportation source.

We have a 1 bedroom terrace @ Cosmo reserved for 4 nights. It's fully comped and i'll be getting freeplay and some food credit. This trip is a bit more planed than I like. I prefer just being able to go wherever, whenever, but this trip we have some stuff booked and planned out.

Saturday the 29th it just so happened that my cousin is in town getting married. Some of my other family will be there also, so we will be attending the wedding. This isn't the purpose of our trip and we didn't even know about the wedding when we planned this trip- but it worked out that we were in town at the same time so we are happy to attend. The wedding is at the Wynn, and the reception dinner to follow is at SW steakhouse.

Sunday we are seeing Fantasy (MyVegas reward) as well as having dinner at Tender Steakhouse @ Luxor (Again, using a Myvegas Reward).

Monday's dinner will likely be Wicked Spoon inside Cosmo. Breakfast and/or lunch will be wherever no plan for them yet.

At some point over this weekend I plan to visit the dolphin reef @ Mandalay Bay as well as Secret Garden @ Mirage. This may or may not pan out if not maybe we will visit one or both on our next trip in October. I can't believe I've never visited either with all of my past trips. We also may visit downtown one afternoon this trip. I swore off downtown a few years ago and haven't visited since. I'm going to give it another shot on an afternoon and see if I enjoy it more this time.

I will be flying home solo Tuesday May 2nd (first time flying alone!) again first class. My husband will be staying behind, and moving to the Luxor and staying for 3 more nights for a work conference. I wish I could have stayed the whole time but we have kids who have school and are already going to be missing a day or two, plus the following weekend we are flying to Arizona to visit family, so I need to head home to get the kids packed and ready for our family trip.

We are slot players and I Hope to have lots of slot porn, food porn, and other randomness.

The next 2 days are going to be very busy getting ready, which is one of my favorite parts of traveling. I love the excitement the 2-3 days leading up the trip bring, even if they tend to be crazy busy.

Sounds like my kind of trip! Congrats on the weight loss! I started a major reducing & workout plan around Feb. as well. Took a week off in Vegas but I've been back on the horse since. Consistency is the key for me, that and having a planned break from it in Vegas! Looking forward to the pics.

I ended up being awake half of the night last night with a stomach ache and feel off today.

Please please please don't let me be getting sick!!!

I withdrew our bank roll today and am getting it ready (we use the envelope method).

Hopefully this lasts the trip and we return home with some of it or more... but I have a bit more set aside I will withdraw If need be.

Fingers crossed I come home with double!

We are on the road heading to the airport!!

This was almost a trip to the hospital instead of the airport.

About a minute after I (the passenger ) took this photo, we were inches away from being involved in a 4 car collision (would have been 6+ cars if we were hit)

We were inches away and debris and glass from the pileup in the lane to our left was bouncing off our cars. A truck behind the 4 car pileup swerved into our lane to avoid the accident and was about 3 inches away from hitting us which would have likely pushed us into the right lane and probably getting hit again.

Thank goodness we were not hit and I read on a local crime watch page in my area that the accident was 4 car, non injury.
I don't know HOW because those cars hit hard. The back car smashed so hard it came up off the ground and bounced into the cement divider on its other side.

Let's hope that almost getting into a car wreck isn't a sign of how this trip will go!!

We will be at the airport soon and I'll post again once we are through security.

In my photo the teal car on the left is the one that was car #4 and hit so hard it bounced off
The road. Literally like a minute later. I'm still shaking.

I'm glad your okay and managed to avoid the collision. That's definitely not the way to get your adrenaline up before Vegas.

We breezed through checking our bags and security. Sky priority allowed us to pass about 30 people in the security line.

We had a snack (smoked salmon dip) and a drink at Taphouse inside the SeaTac airport. Now we are sitting at our gate waiting to board.

Flight is sold out and delta is offering $600 for anyone who will take a flight at 8:20 on Alaska airlines instead of the 6:45 on Delta. We are keeping our seats though, and we board in about 45 minutes.

We took Lyft from the airport. Pleasent ride and only $12 to the Cosmo.

For the first time ever I'm so disappointed with my room at Cosmo. I only got 19th floor and stare right into the Bellagio sign!! They claimed no other rooms available tonight but I can move in the morning.

My host left a nice plate of
Strawberries and some champagne in our room for my birthday.

We played from 1030pm-3am non stop tonight and are down $500 so far.

Playing Willy Wonka (the 3 reel one one where you collect the gems or whatever and when you get 3 you get the bonus) on $1.75 I got 5 spins at 25x and got nothing! Ended up with a $12 consolation prize.

Then a few spins later I got the same thing on $3.75. Hit one $250 spin and the other 4 were $0.

I won about $300 on the Flinstones version of the same game and about $300 on WOF... and lost on most everything else.

-$500 tonight but hope to bring it back tomorrow.

    Goodnight!
