And my husband just asked for scissors. It didn’t even take a full day for him to need something I overpacked. HA

Great report so far. You have a great lineup of restaurants planned - I'm especially looking forward to hearing about Tides @ GVR. I've walked by this place a bunch, but never actually eaten there.

Honestly, my goal was to be in bed by 10 tonight. Going to make it or be just a tad late. I’m happy. I desperately need sleep.

My watch says we walked 19,202 steps, 8.4miles. I’m very happy with that. The Paris to ParkMGM and back trek is longer than it looks. Plus airports. It was a good day. I even had a salad. Boom. Healthy.

So making reservations was a good idea to keep us on track meal wise….except we forgot to eat lunch. Sooooo….oops. We ventured to ParkMGM. Played a little craps. Had a 1 hot shooter, made 9/10 of the numbers for the bonus. It was a fun time. And it was a really good crowd! I would actually call it crowded. Definitely the most crowded I’ve seen it. Pre-dinner, 2 craps and 2 crapless tables were open, all $15. We wandered over to Best Friend around 5:15ish and asked if we could get seated early cause I was borderline hangry. Also had a good crowd but not packed. OMG the food was amazing. Considered the chef’s menu but we really didn’t want to be stuffed, so we ordered ala carte. Everything is family style and comes out as it’s ready. We did the BBQ ribeye (bulgogi), yuzu shrimp, kimchi, and veggie noodles. The bulgogi was a really good cut of steak and really well prepared but I found it a little lacking in bulgogi flavor. However, the noodles. Wow. My husband and I both agreed they were one of the best things we’ve had in Vegas in recent memory. The shrimp had a really good grill sear on them and were delicious. I was gunning for the spicy pork but we decided that probably wasn’t the best idea on an empty stomach. Then my fantastic husband got to pick out dessert and he decided to get the Bath Tub Ice Cream Sundae (completely ignoring the fact that we agreed we didn’t want to feel stuffed). It was phenomenal. Vanilla and chocolate ice creams, brownie bites, marshmallows, chocolate sauce, homemade whipped cream, and these little red crunchy things that we couldn’t decide tasted like raspberry or pomegranate. I let him finish most of it because I was pleasantly, but not hate-my-life, full. Overall, we were done with dinner before our reservation was even supposed to start.

Then we agreed it was probably best to spend a little more time at Park but ultimately leave by 7. That didn’t happen. We sat down at a blackjack table (they had mostly $15/$25 open) and just had a lot of fun. Shoutout to Pino the dealer! He was awesome! Cocktail service everywhere we’ve been has been pretty steady….except Park. It was spotty at best. The server would come by twice in 5 minutes and then we wouldn’t see her for 20. After having a ton of fun at this table, we wound up leaving around 8:30. Walked back on the west side of the strip, crossed over in front of PH. It’s pretty crowded out tonight. Paris casino is borderline packed. It’ll be interesting to see how it is the next couple week days.

Together, we’re down $800 for the day. Not bad at all. Well below our couple “1st day budget.” Tomorrow, Mon Ami Gabi for breakfast. We have been there before but never for breakfast, so I consider that part new to us. Then we plan on heading north, probably gambling here and there on the way. I’d like to take a turn through Wynn and tier match while we’re here but I don’t know if we’ll get that far north. Planning on ubering/cabbing to GVR around 6ish. I’m going to look into Aroma Retail pickup. I got an email the other day that they have a whole new in store shopping area, so might stop by there on the way to GVR. Never been in the store, have only ever ordered online. Really looking forward to Tides. I LOVE oysters and Dan HATES them, so I plan on eating ALL. THE. OYSTERS. And they’re so expensive on the strip, I never order them when we’re here. And let’s be honest, I don’t trust oysters in Indiana. So now showered, exhausted, but so happy to be in Vegas.

Cheers everyone and see you tomorrow!

I am loving your trip report - for a first one, you are definitely a pro! Will be following along. BTW, I've been gambling in Vegas since 1979 and have never had a hand pay. :( Hope you achieve your goal this trip and Happy Birthday to you.

Thanks!! First TR but definitely not my first trip to Vegas :D I figured I would post the funny stuff, the things that usually entertain me in other people’s reports, and informative stuff, like table minimums. Hopefully some good gambling posts coming today!

Nothing like a good brain freeze from horking down ice cream at record speed. That's a big bowl of ice cream!

The electronic craps table with dice. I know it’s at Harrahs and PH. Have you seen it anywhere else?

Quick update while im peeing at Flamingo (sorry not sorry). Just had an epic craps run. Won the guy next to me $1900. Mostly on 4 & 8. Hit every number but 2 for the All Bonus. Table was $25. Walked up with $100, walked away with $573 (& had 2 drinks). Left after I 7ed out because they changed the table to $50 in the middle of my roll.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Only real table open. That’s just fucking greedy. Electronic open for $10. I REALLY hope this electronic trend doesn’t continue. I hate them. I’ll update about breakfast (Mom Ami Gavin) & Paris minimums later. Just had a free 2 minutes now :D:D:D:D

Wow, $25 during the day at Flamingo! More power to you playing. With $100 to play doesn't leave much room for error. Congrats!

What a great start to a TR, sounds like a blast. Does Best Friend have a bar? I want to eat there when I get in next week but I’ll be solo for a couple hours until the rest of group lands.

Today has been an awesome second day. Started out with breakfast at Mon Ami Gabi. Did a bottle of house brut with mimosas. I had raspberry/black lime/bay leaf juice and Dan did peach/sweet vermouth. They were very good. And actual champagne! Overall, the food was somewhere between meh and good. I had the blueberry waffle. Turns out it was 5 mini waffles, of which 2 were hard as a rock. Dan did steak and eggs and the steak was closer to burger quality. However, the glazed bacon was DELICIOUS, especially dipped in the blue syrup. I had mentioned it was my birthday on the reservation and they gave us a comp ice cream sandwich type thing. Also meh.

After breakfast, topped by CVS for extra blister relief. My super cute new shoes gave me super cute new blisters and I’m burning through my bandaid stock pretty quick. Also got a bag of potato chips for late night munchies. Dropped all of it back at the room, restocked the cash, and headed north. We were running shorter on time than we anticipated. Didn’t get pasted Harrah’s.

Flamingo was awesome for craps, even at a $25 table. O’Sheas had a weird craps game that we didn’t quite understand. None of the tables at O’Sheas were open so we couldn’t watch how it was played. Played roulette at Linq for like 30 minutes, lost $20 myself, Dan won $30. They put a Dunkin in Linq. That’s awesome! Then moseyed on over to Flour & Barley for a quick lunch. Got there right as happy hour started. Margherita pizza for me, Big Apple for Dan. $10 each plus 4 $5 vodka lemonades. $40 total for a quick lunch. Sat at the bar, Keith the bartender was awesome. Continued over to Harrah’s where I sacrificed $165 to the slot machine gods. Screw you Top Dollar machine. Seriously. You suck. Tried my hand at some VP. It was more fun than I anticipated. I maintained for quite a while. When I finally went to cash out, I got the blue screen of death! Slot attendant tried to help, no luck. She called for backup, that guy had no luck. They finally authorized her to round up my TITO from $34.93 to $35. So hey, FREE SEVEN CENTS! Take that Caesars!

Finally, walked back to Paris. Just showered. Now going to get ready and hopefully cab or ride share over to GVR around 6. Probably no time for Aroma Retail. Oh well, maybe next time.

Some room notes - shower has great water temperature but the water pressure is atrocious. I’d give it a 4/10. I had to rinse my hair in the bathtub it was so bad. Also, with the giant windows, definitely have to keep the curtains closed during the day. We had just one curtain open and it was sweltering by the time we got back. But I slept so well last night. Fell asleep almost as soon as my head hit the pillow around 10:15 and slept all the way to 8:30. It was magnificent.

Now, I can’t wait for oysters and seafood. I really hope Tides doesn’t disappoint, it has great reviews!
