um, those were at the airport! D gates. I realized I hadn’t had anything like dinner and I do better on flights if I’ve had some food. They were tasty!

Finally, I have more than a couple of minutes at an actual keyboard to type up a few last notes.

Just before takeoff, it was announced that our flight would land early, so I jotted off a quick email to the airport parking place I use, since they park the cars off-site, to let them know I'd be early. Had to go to airplane mode right after that, so didn't get to see if they replied or not. My car was waiting right where it should have been, though, so all was well! I got back home pretty late, had made sure the Sweetie would leave the door unlocked for me, and I had put my pajamas right on top in my suitcase. Slept well, thank goodness, because work kicked off the next morning with event after event.

Speaking of suitcase. I actually preferred traveling personal item only. It's so easy to only have to keep track of one bag. But, I did like having more space. I don't usually buy anything in Vegas -- this time I bought myself airpods for my birthday (sales tax is lower in NV than in my home state/city), and the usual gummy candy poker chips for my son. I was able to pack up quickly though, rather than the usual tetrising I have to do with the personal item. For my next trip, I'm flying Delta to LV, then American to DC, then Jet Blue from DC back home - I'll have a consistent carry-on + personal item the whole way. I'll need it since I'll be gone just over a week.

Little things .... I didn't think it would be a big deal that Park is now smoke-free but ... it is. I really noticed the smoke in the other casinos after being in Park for a few hours. I like it. It's also comforting re: COVID, because with no smoking, there are fewer people keeping their masks down or off. NoMad and Park remain my favourite properties.

The Park red room was noticibly smaller than the NoMad room I had back in April. But ... it felt cozy, not cramped. I did have a tub/shower combo, but never happened to use the tub since I swam every day. Stuck to showers to rinse out the pool water. The view of the drive and NYNY, and area in front of the arena was pleasant. All in all, very happy with the property.

Draft beer selection was kind of meh. I was able to get a Space Dust once; the next time I asked about IPAs their one Space Dust tap was tapped out. I did not try the sports bar though; meant to it just didn't happen. The Mango Cart mango wheat was tasty; I had one at the pool too. $10 for a draft at the pool didn't seem too bad, for Vegas. Worth it to chill with a book on the pool deck. Pool was hopping on Sunday; less so on the weekdays.

Every staff member I encountered was pleasant, helpful, kind and funny. Well, there was one bartender who seemed to have a chip on his shoulder, but he was still pleasant, and remembered me from night to night. I think he was just bummed about the slow return of customers.

At Eataly one morning the customer ahead of me tried to charge to his room and they wouldn't let him, as his name wasn't on the room, just his wife's. He insisted he'd done it the day before, and was starting to get a little upset. So, I spoke up and offered to pay for his food (you know, in case he didn't bring $ down from the room). He paused in his rant, apologized, and pulled out a credit card. Later on, he saw me in the hotel and said hi. I wonder if his wife, who was with him then, was confused!

Eataly breakfast was, as usual, delicious. I think I've had breakfast there about 20 times now. I guess I'll have to branch out next month when I stay at Luxor, since it'll be quite the hike to get to Eataly.

Never did find a craps table I was happy with. I just don't think I will enjoy $15 mins, and never found $10. Even at the Cal downtown on a weekday, mins were $15. I admittedly didn't try the Tropicana, or EI etc. Just didn't feel like heading over there. So, it's ok. If I really want to play craps, I have local casinos with low limits, but I can only play VP in Vegas.

The high-end dining I enjoyed was all delicious. Bavette's -- great steak and service. Milos -- amazing dips especially, plus they put a candle in my raspberry on the fruit place desert. Jaleo happy hour was a treat! Every dish different and unusual; great friendly service.

Oh, here's a fun service note. At Chandelier, I was on my second Aperol spritz and needed a break from VP. I asked the bartender if I could take it as is, in the glass instead of getting a plastic cup, and he said "Of course! We're classy like that here!"

That's about all I can think of. I swear, if I didn't do updates on the go, I'd forget all the details. Thanks for reading this far.

This was definitely my losing-ist trip, but also the one where I tried higher limits on VP than other trips. So, I learned something.

Great report. Thanks for sharing. Jaleo’s happy hour was on our list last month but we didn’t make it. I’ll try again next time. Hope you had a wonderful birthday!
