Does anyone have any news on Binions hotel & casino? I've been visit Binions for years and I like the place. It is unfortunate that they no longer offer rooms but the casino is great. I did their "mother lode spin" and got this free root beer float or waffle cone. Anyone have any other information about Binions?

Monday's free spin got this sunglasses. It costed me about $20 to get it. Dang I could have bought a $2.99 sunglasses at the ABC store.

This was Sunday's free waffle cone, I actually made $20 earning the 5 points for the mother lode spin.

Binions has a free slot pull at the front entrance but I didn't partake. The give a coupon but I'm not sure what's on it. Possible a free slot tournament.

I miss staying at Binions during the poker boom. The hotel rooms were like shoeboxes, I can remember rolling out of bed and practically laying in my buddies bed, lol. The ran tournaments all day and night, even the 2am tournament would draw 3-4 tables.

The last few trips when I've walked through, they had no 3:2 blackjack at all...only 6:5.
This takes them off of my radar.

What's the point of gambling there if they can't offer free rooms?

I'm sure you can generate QQQQ rooms from playing there.

But what's the point, maybe people feel lucky there, maybe they like the service? IMO they have a decent slot selection. I always stop in to play the gimmick Double Ball Roulette for a bit.

100% agree. We used to have the most fun at Binions. I loved playing in that place. Now that the good blackjack is gone we don't do much more than walk through it on occasion now.

I stopped playing at Binions when they stopped having $5 tables. Every time I go to the craps table it is at least $10. The 6:5 doesn't help either...

they don't give you much reason to go there. it is a sad sight to see. a shell of its former self. all of that wide open space in the back. and racks of sale t-shirts. really? I go in and do my coupons/matchplays and keep moving. the place is begging to be bought. but apparently it would be too costly to rehab the hotel tower. it's 2 street front bars probably make good money though.

I played VP at one of the bars last year. I think they had decent BP and had an IPA on tap that I liked. I would do that again.

I play some there every trip. I love that they have slant top VP machines that go all the way down to nickels. I hate uprights.
    I love it there.

I think I know which machines Blonde is talking about, it's near the snack bar and has about 8 machines with a sign up to 98% payback. Nickels, dimes, quarters, etc. The quarters have 9/6 JOB or 8/5 BP. The comp dollars seems easy to earn at Binions and I like that when I insert my players card it tells exactly me how much comp dollars I have available, about $45 but that's years of accumulation.

They have attractive bar gals, and the skimpy tittie tops the girls out front wear are worth the trip.

It was a sad day when they moved the Saturday poker tournament area to the downstairs room (which is only open now on Saturday). I loved playing in the old lobby area. It was mostly away from the machines and somewhat quiet.

My last trip during the Super Bowl I told my buddy to drink it in. I don't think poker tournaments at Binions will be back next year. It's a death sign every time a casino moves the tables to the casino floor. So many fond memories.

I started staying exclusively here in the early 90's when Jack Binion was running this awesome casino/hotel. It truly was my "Cheers" place. It was so sad witnessing the demise of this once hopping place. Benny is probably rolling in his grave with the famous single deck BJ 3:2 now gone and replaced with the dreaded 6:5.

I only walk through the casino to get to my new "home"....the CAL. Every now and then I do see an employee still working there from the Binion era. Ahhh.....great memories.

Yeah, back when they asked if you wanted diner when you we're playing craps, and if you wanted to keep on playing, they'd bring food and a coke to the craps table. Which wasn't all that long ago.
