Pretty sure the only way to obtain hats is through play using coins "earned" through the bonus and reward boxes on the bottom. Or...which I've never done, through play from coins you've actually purchased. I don't think hats are earned on any coins won through your play. So if you win 5million coins on a slot, playing through these coins won't net you any hats.

I have been playing the app for a little over a month, never bought any coins, currently at level 18 and have almost 1500 hats and over 56 million coins. I get 10 hats from the third bonus each day, and through playing coins/points. I don't get any from watching videos, only the 100,000 coins each time. I don't have any " benny bucks" or other awards because I don't play a large bet. Usually 150,00 on 3 hand video poker and up to 100,000 on the slots.

I'm honestly surprised at how "easy" it is to accumulate hats and thus redeemable prizes given how awful the video poker and table games rules are at Binions.
Plan to redeem $30 at Bennys, $25 at the cafe, and 4 free drinks when we go in 2 weeks. Have almost another 1000 hats that I don't think I'll even be able to use. Too bad they don't have other prize options like free play or even match play for their terrible tables.

I have almost 10000 hats. We used 8K in August at the steakhouse, and we will use another 8k again at the steakhouse next year. Not too shabby for only spending $3 for a one time buy.

The 100,000 coins you get from watching an ad should get you 4 hats. If you have more coins or win on that 100k then it will take more spins to get them but still should end up with 4 hats by the time you run out of chips.

Oh i see you have 56 million coins. They are spread through that 56 million. If you have 100k in coins from an ad and 56 million in "useless coins" provided you dont win you should get a hat roughly every spin of 15 million coins. My girlfried gets frustrated saying I never can play long enough on this game. I keep telling her its not about playing its getting the coins from the ads and going broke to get the hats.

So true...you need to go broke to accelerate acquiring hats. That been my modus operandi.

I am getting a hat about every 600,000 in coins, not 15 million. Whether playing slots or poker. At least that was last night and today.

The point, I believe, was that the more chips you have, the more you have to wager to get the same impact on earning hats. So people who burn down their chips and watch vids can earn similar or more hats even though they keep going 'broke'

There is definitely a curve to earning hats. Looks more like a cool down period to reduce the number of chips per hat, then a ramp up. Just tried on video poker and for about 5 hats, it was 400k per hat, then a couple at 450k, then 500k per hat.
