To all that have taken part of the Beau Rivage MGM offer. The deal includes free hotel, flight, and shuttle to/from the airport.

However, I would like to rent a car at the airport to check out New Orleans for a day.

Do you have to take MGM's shuttle?

Thanks :)

No you don't have to but it is very convenient. And there is an enterprise car rental facility in the basement of Beau Rivage.

Oh phew! I get a family discount on Hertz so I wanted to use them since it would be $60 for the 3 days. I will check out the rates at enterprise too though. Thanks!

It will be cheaper especially if you get a discount from Hertz, We usually pay about $50/day at the enterprise in the BR but sometimes we only use car one day.
It is cheaper for enterprise if you rent from the one closest to airport and then drop it off at BR.

When we go on those junkets we don't get there until very late, like b/w 10-11 PM and the rental counters at the airport don't stay open 24/7 so that's something you need to consider. We take the shuttle and rent from Enterprise on Auto Mall Pkwy. They will pick you up at Hard Rock (next door to Beau) and you can drop the car off at Beau before you leave. This Enterprise is considerably cheaper than the one at the Beau.

Crap. I did not even thinking about that to be honest. So used to large airports.

I will check out the one on Auto Mall Pkwy. Thanks NandJfrmNJ :)

$50 isn't too bad especially if I decide to only use it for a day. Thanks for the help again :)

When we took the charter flight a few years ago, the bus actually met us at the plane. No idea if they do that anymore.

If you only need the car for a day, even paying extra at the Beau or Enterprise would end up cheaper anyways.

No you have to walk to baggage area and they are waiting for you outside now.

If you do decide not to take their shuttle, please do let someone in charge know so they don't hold up the shuttle waiting for you to get on. Just a common courtesy to your fellow junket travelers. But I'm sure you've already thought about this.

Yea... this happens too often. I have been on more than one flight or shuttle sitting for a half hour while they try to find somebody that is not coming.

Now you've got me thinking. When we did the junket they didn't do a roll call on the buses. I did notice the drivers doing a head count as we got on, I assumed this was just to prevent over-filling the buses.

I have been many times and they have never checked my name off of a list to get on buses. We have also not taken the bus, renting a car at the airport and we didn't get our hand slapped for doing something wrong. We are planning on renting a car at airport on our trip Thursday.
