So...we were thinking of Vegas in Sept while it was still pool weather. My bride said she's a little short on vacation time with her girls Mexico trip and then we had a wedding in the PNW. I never go to Vegas for less than 5 nights cuz it takes too damn long to get there and back. Right about the time we were deciding what was more important between Christmas with the family or Vegas (she and I differ on that a bit...LOL) along comes an offer for the charter trips to the Beau. We've done it twice before and the Beau is a lot of fun and to me, damn near feels like you're in Vegas once you're in the casino. They changed it to a 4 night trip instead of 3 which is really nice. 90 min NS flight out of Richmond to Gulfport. Looking forward to playing in the new smoke free slot room that used to be the poker room and the new (since we were last in town) HL room. Anybody been in either room?

Non-smoking room has a good selection of slots, and a few VP machines. More slots. HL room is really nice. The room is very "open" and well lit. Usual table games and slots are offered there, and very nice lounge and bar.

Most of the Beau's charters have gone to 4 nights. As you stated, 1.5 hour flight really makes this trip appealing.

Hope it works out for you.

Thanks for the info Coach, looking forward to the trip! The Breeze Bar is still my favorite place to play VP because the bartenders are always good and usually very friendly. We've been to the BR about 6 times over the years and the design for me actually feels like it has parts of Bellagio and parts of Wynn. I love the casino layout. If you think about it, it's very similar to what Steve Wynn did at the Wynn casino. One main walkway down the middle and a walkway that pretty much goes around the perimeter. The only negative thing I can say about the hotel is I wish they'd do an update on the rooms and bathrooms but they're still clean and it seems they do refresh the carpet and bedding. At least they added a flat screen. Great pool area and nice enough work out area in the spa area. I love their coffee shop and I think they have a great selection of restaurants. My wife hates buffets but we've even done their champagne brunch before it's pretty damn good.

I saw a post on Instagram that said the BR had gone smoke free?? That would be great IMO but I can't imagine they did. Seems the farther south you get, the more people smoke from what I've observed.

I am pretty sure the rooms are all smoke free not the casino.

We just booked our Diamond Asp 2 at Biloxi, going to Harrah's Gulf Coast. Going next February to get away from Michigan's worst month.

Love the Beau, Dino. One of my favorite casinos to STAY in...not play in. Find I do better at IP, and just about every other casino in Biloxi. The new HL room is nice, I like it, lost money in it real quick, but I should have known better than to gamble there..lol. All the rooms are smoke free, you can still smoke in the suites, I stayed in The Cypress Suite last time and was able to smoke in it. Smoking is still allowed in the gaming floor, but there has been a non smoking section added recently.

I'd love to get one of those charter comp offers and do the Beau. Best offer I got out of Tampa was 3/4 nights and airfare for $580 or so. Not gonna do it at that rate.

You gotta gamble there, or any MGM resort, and the mailers will come weekly. I don't even open them anymore. Last time I went I did the 1st Class upgrade and spent $300 for my wife and I. Even though it barely over an hour, imo, its worth it...And beats the dogshit out of almost $600..lol

I've gambled very lightly in MGM joints in Vegas, but apparently not enough to generate a decent Beau offer.

Commercial flights to Biloxi area are too expensive/inconvenient for me and it's a long-ass drive. So my Biloxi prospects remain dim even though I really want to check it out...

We have gone to Biloxi the past 5 years and loved it. We always have stayed at the Beau Rivage and it has never disappointed. We were set on driving down again next month until we got a good deal on a flight and hotel in Vegas. Figured we'd try Vegas again after 15 years.

For those not aware, the Beau Rivage is a Steve Wynn design. Was gonna be called Bellagio until he was able to acquire land for Vegas Bellagio. It is non-smoking rooms.

The Breeze Bar is my hangout. As stated, bartenders are great.

Usually down there at least 5 times a year.

I went on a comped charter offer with freeplay in January, which was triggered by Sept '16 Vegas MGM play and haven't seen one since. How often do the rest of you get charter offers?

Actually, Bellagio was originally going to be called Beau Rivage and have the hotel tower on an island in the middle of a big lake.

I get offers just about every month. They run a charter from our local airport. First time we paid about $350 per person for flight and room. We played a good bit of VP while we were there. Now I got any offer for $40 per person for end of August. Booked it.

We did that too for the same reason. $150 for 1st class was worth it to me even if it was only 90 mins. But the BR has increased the 1st class upgrade to $290/pp. To me that's tipped the scale to just do coach. That's damn near $600 you can spend in the casino, plus they do free drinks on the whole plane on these trips, not just 1st class. So it's basically a larger seat. It also appears the BR is comping those 1st class seats to any high rollers taking the trip so on our flight anyway, there weren't any seats available even if I did want to fork over the $290/seat.

Hey Dean, yes I've been to both rooms a few times - we go out from Savannah / Hilton Head for the Beau trips. The smoke free slot room is OK. The HL room hasn't been too busy when I've been there but it's nice. Was there in late June & going back Sept 6-9. Going to see Sebastian Maniscolco- a Really Funny Guy! Actually going to Wynn Aug 22-26 ( hope I have money left!) I love doing these junkets to the Beau - so easy to get to compared to Vegas & the staff there treats you Great!
    Have a Terrific Time &win $$$
