    My Trip Report

With no more episodes of Squid Game to watch, I figured Vegas would be the next best thing. I also ran out of bourbon, and the package store is 21 minutes away. So, way easier to book a trip to Vegas 5 hours before takeoff.

My goal is to sample 20 manhattans at higher end bars and report back on the best ones. Gaming will be mostly HL baccarat. Also, I will continue the tradition of dipping a CR hotdog into a bloody mary for breakfast. Trust me.

My favorite is the base manhattan at Bardot made with Michter's and a dash of Angostura bitters, stirred and filtered into a martini glass...but I'm always open to try something better.

Love it! Following along. Solo trips need structure so the manhattan sampling is a good goal!

Well, gambol time may be limited tonight
Flight landed an hour and a half late, and now sitting shy of the gate. Pilot said all badge readers by the gate doors were down at LAS, so agents are trying to figure out how to access the jet bridges. Yikes. Me thinks there ought to be a plan b for that one...

Waited about 20 minutes to declare, and pilot said thenl issue started about 20 mins before landing. I'm a go with the flow fellow, but it seems like the Ops director may have to visit the principal's office on Monday.

NoMad HL room! Will do a longer write up later, but here are the stats:
    • 7 manhattans, all from Nomad bar. Have to say, this may be one of my favorite HL environments in Vegas. I like the colors and vibe.
    • Called it a night at around 8 am. Up about a G on baccarat play.
Switched to a bloody Mary and may be switching up my Manhattan challenge. More to come!

Lol. As a Manhattan drinker I can say I usually have a 6-9 Manhattan night during a 14-day trip...but I can't handle more than about 2 of that kind of night. Looks like a tasting of them around town is going to turn into a full-time gambling expedition.

Sorry so much trouble getting into the gate. That really blows, so close and yet so far.

Nice, a Luxardo cherry, was that served in a coupe glass? It looks like the one at the Baccarat table had a regular cherry at the bottom of the cocktail glass.

My favorite Manhattan is my next one, but I prefer Rye whiskey and Orange bitters.

They also make a great Old Fashioned and waitress will serve them in the HL slot/VP area...

Hope you're having a great time and not in the hospital from too many Manhattans ;)

Alright folks, this one is a wrap! I didn't post as much as I hoped, but I had a blast and will post the highlights.

    Friday night/Saturday morning
Excessive Manhattan consumption in the NoMad HL room. To a previous question, they were first served in a coupe glass with a proper cherry, then after shift change went to a martini glass with a red cherry. I still drank it, and it was still delicious.

    Saturday
Hit up LaLa noodles at Park. Despite being pretty westernized, the food hit the spot and I'd not hesitate to go back. Good cocktail, good noodle dish. Then I wandered down to the Mirage for some pai gow and a little baccarat in the HL room. The casino itself was hopping, but the HL room was quiet. I was usually the only player at the tables. Donked away some of my winnings from the previous night, but they kept the Macallan (year unknown) flowing. Quick bite to eat at the Still bar, which was fine (just had a beer and a salad).

Back to NoMad, where I went on a great drunken run on baccarat. Went to bed around five.

    Sunday
You'll have to wait until I can post pictures. Aces WAK on a $5 machine playing five credits.
    Then...4 Aces
    Then...4 Queens

    God I hate the IRS.

I donked a little back but am leaving a significant winner. Excellent trip! Stay well, friends.
