    My Trip Report

This is our 15th consecutive superbowl & 18th overall. We arrived at McCarren around 10am. Jumped in the limo and headed to the Venetian vip checkin. Rooms were ready immediately and we were unpacked a little after 11am.

1st stop was the sports book for the superbowl prop sheets. 2nd stop was lunch at Grand Lux. We have dinner reservations at e by Jose Andres over at Cosmo, so lunch is a couple apps to share to ensure we have a healthy appetite for the 20+ course dinner.

Played 3 hours of BJ before dinner. No strong runs, but rather a slow bleed. All the regular BJ tables were $25 and up. I didn't check the carny games (switch, freebet, zombie blackjack, etc.. ). One guy we played cards with said in the preseason he placed a $17,000 bet on the eagles to win it all. Paid around 220K. I tried to talk him into hedging the bet to guarantee a win. Hope he didn't listen to me lol.

Got changed for dinner and grabbed a limo for the Cosmo. 1st dish was made to look like a plant with purple, yellow, & pink flowers. Swallowed down the plant like it was my last bite on earth, and promptly ordered their ultimate gin & tonic.

    More to come... [IMG][IMG][IMG]

It's not easy to see, but on the spoon is a gelatin bubble filled with sangria. It's a 2 bite squirter, so best advice is to suck it all in at once, and explode it all over your mouth : )

This was our 2nd time here. The chefs (a team of 6) create the food in front of you. Interaction is encouraged.

This one involved a wine, mixed with liquid nitrogen. It turns the wine into frozen dip-n-dots. Pretty cool to watch.

A few more pics of our dinner at e, along with the 20+ course menu at the end.

So we head back to the Venetian after dinner. A good song comes on the radio and we take a pic so we can download the tune later. Guess I won't be downloading this song anytime soon. The camera had about the same focus as my eyes.

So we arrive back at venetian and play some cards. During a restroom break, I notice the rubber pads in the urinals all say Brady. Given the outcome of the game, it seemed reasonable. A little tricky to see with the reflection, but it's there

Played mostly $50 and $100 blackjack tables. Could not seem to find a favorable table. No big losses, but a slow bleed over the course of 4 hours. We did run across this interesting incident. A gal was coming down the escalator and her 6-inch pump completely brought the escalator to a standstill. Her high heel slipped through a tiny opening and wedged itself. It happened really fast, and sent her into an awkward body posture as she was jerked out of the shoe. For a moment it looked as if she was doing the Elaine dance from Seinfeld. Everything was shut down for about 20 minutes.

Coming later. The big game party at the Venetian, dinner with a porn icon, and we pay it forward by giving one lucky stranger a free flight home.

Thankfully, the girl was fine. She got lucky. But I'm not sure if the shoe made it out in one piece.

    Day 2 Saturday

The morning started with breakfast at Grand Lux. Skipped the entire line and got some sour looks from those who had been waiting. Ate a hearty breakfast and proceeded to do a 2 person slot pull. We each got 4 $250 slot tickets. We then ran the same amount of money through 6 different slots. For the finale, we played 100 play video poker at $50 a pull. When we finished, we had about $1500.

We spent the afternoon playing BJ. We hopped around playing $50 & $100 tables. Just like yesterday, it was a challenge to put any streaks together. Got about 6 hours in at the tables.

For dinner we had reservations at Delmonico's. We arrived early, so I had a Stoli Elit martini w/blue cheese olives. It's my favorite vodka and makes for a stellar martini. We finally get led to our table. The restaurant is packed.

In an earlier post I mentioned dinner with a porn icon. Seated at the table directly next to us is Larry Flynt of Hustler Magazine fame. He's getting old, but he's still rocking his all gold wheelchair. He had a bodyguard, eating solo a few tables away. Everytime I looked at the bodyguard, he was looking at me. We had a couple long glances before I figured out they were together. Larry is paralyzed from the waist down due to injuries suffered in a 1978 murder attempt. He brings his security team with him when he travels. I think it's funny the FAA let him get a custom tail number for his private Jet. The tail reads N269HM (into 69 Hustler Magazine).

We ordered the seafood tower, king crab deviled eggs, bone in karabuto bacon, bone in rib eye, and a cheese platter. Everything was spot on. The bone in bacon is amazing if you've never had it. On the seafood tower, we substituted raw tuna for the oysters.

Now I can say I've eaten raw tuna with Larry Flynt. That just sounds wrong lol.

After dinner we played some slots and more BJ. We did get a small hand pay on a Zeuss slot. Totals for the trip bankroll are a few thousand down. Tomorrow will be another day.

    More to come...

Sunday was all about the game. Bet my usual prop bets. Came up empty. Enjoyed watching the eagles kick butt.

Let's wrap this up. Had a decent run of cards after the game & made back most of my losses.

Monday morning we went to cash in one of my brother's winning tickets. We start talking to the guy in line in front of us (Kevin). Ends up he was leaving to catch a flight. When he said he was flying to the same airport as us, we hatched an idea. You see, we had a private jet taking us back to California. We asked Kevin if he wanted to cancel his commercial flight, and instead, fly back with us. He thought we were fucking with him.

Ate lunch at Grand Lux, then flew home. Left the Venetian at 12:45. We were inside the plane at 1pm.

All meals, limos, & rooms were comped.

Paying it forward. Here is our new friend Kevin getting ready to go home.

    Until next time...

Oh yeah, one last thing. Classic scene below. Being 30,000 feet in the air when you realize both pilots are looking at Cell phone pictures!!! I'm not shitting you. We busted their balls a little bit after the flight and we all had a nice laugh about it. Good times for sure.
