So I live in the Cleveland, OH area (Go TRIBE!) and recently the Horseshoe turned into The Jack Casino and lost all ties to CET. Traditionally when I would go to Vegas we (Wife, and In-Laws) would stay at the Palms (In Laws started staying there once it opened and have been VIP status since), but in the summer of 2015 we stayed at the Flamingo with TR points that my wife and I earned while playing in CLE. Now with that affiliation gone and our old slot hostess at the Palms now at Cosmo, I'm wondering where we should do our playing to get the most bang for our buck. We are staying at PHo for 3 days (New Years), but in June we are coming back for a big bash. Traditionally we play VP usually JoB, DDB and the likes. Nothing too crazy. Some slots, and MAYBE a little table games. But mainly VP players. We'd like to make Cosmo home but it seems recently room rates have been insanely high (granted we haven't been gambling there a ton, so that's probably why). Any suggestions as we (now with a 4 month old and 2.5 year old) won't be making as many Vegas trips as we once did before. Thanks!
Easy. When you are there for New years, just play wherever you want to try and stay in June. if that is Cosmo, do all your gambling at Cosmo and you should then get on their radar for offers. if its a CET property, play there in January. With more rooms and hotels, you are more likely to get offers for CET if you play there. But if you play enough, Cosmo will send you offers as well
With both of our TR numbers we get some decent rates but that is at Harrahs, Ballys, Rio, Flamingo (Not going there again). CET doesn't really do it for me. Some in the group are going to stay at Wynn, not sure if we want to do that. With our former slot host at Cosmo, that makes us want to go there, but we aren't really tied to anything anymore.... Plus I'm not telling my wife any of this right now since the NYE trip is her Christmas gift...
I had the same happen in St. Louis when harrahs left. I still get comped rooms everywhere but the 2 high properties. Staying at the linq q now for free for 5 days. And we only come to Vegas once a year.
As live in Cleveland (Lakewood) too, I started taking a drive up to Windsor to gamble and earn my comps for vegas however Windsor is very very generous with freeplay. comped rooms, and concert tickets. I am mostly a penny/nickel gambler too. GOOOOOOO TRIBBBBBE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've never had a host and just use my offers from MLife, usually calling into the VIP line. Also just a table player, maybe run $500 through a slot on an average 3 day trip so very little slot play on the card, so take this advice with that in mind. I would probably reach out to your old Palms host at Cosmo. She can probably give you a pretty good idea of what you could expect from your traditional play. I don't know if they will match offers or not. It doesn't hurt to ask. I would also take UK's advice to play as much as you can at Cosmo over the NYE holiday. At worst you will probably get a teaser offer from them. I rolled the dice over there one afternoon in the spring and get ticket and room offers from them all the time, I just need to convince the wife that I need a solo trip there or that we need to switch from Aria. You might also consider giving V/P, Wynn and Cosmo just a sprinkling of play each and hope for teaser offers. I've played at Wynncore and V/P very sparingly on my recent trips and it seems like they are pretty quick with the teasers. As a dice player Wynncore has absolutely no appeal to me, although I am thinking I may double book in December just to see what the rooms are like and to use their facilities. I will basically no play them so it could be a one and done chance. Let's get this game tonight!! I don't want a game 7. Go Tribe!!
