I plan to use my American Casino Guide coupon to earn $100 in free play at the D. Last year I played the Bonus poker machines towards the back, first floor not far from hotel registration. Would the 8/5 JOB progressives be a better option?

If you have the time to grind it out, 8/5 Bonus for quarters at Vue Bar, which is often positive after progressives, is your best bet.

Per the vpfree2 website it is $10 coin in per point. 100 points earns $1 cash back/$1 comps...Thanks for the intel Tringlomane, What would the jackpot need to be at to be above 99.17? Do you have any idea?

$100 free play = 80 hands at quarters. Not much grinding...

$1,001 would put the return higher than 99.17%.

oh that's right, they are already at 99.17, was thinking of 8/5 JOB. I just read the details of the coupon again, it's $5 in free play for every 50 points earned, up to $100. So if my math is correct, it looks like it would take me 8000 hands on quarters, and 1000 hands on dollars to get the$100 in free play. I'll have to check the fine print on the coupon, but if there's no 24 hour timelimit on earning the points I may space it out throughout the trip and play the quarter progressives at the D a little bit each day.

There is a 24 hour time limit. I tend to split my play between the Vue Bar and the slant machines by the sportsbook, playing 8/5 bonus poker on both. I can play faster on the slant machines, but the bar has a 3-way progressive vs. a progressive only for the royal flush on the slants. I don't think I was able to redeem my free play at the bar; I might have used it on non-progressive 8/5 bonus poker near the hotel registration.

Well, after you earn the $100 of FP sure. He was talking about using this coupon.

"$5 in free play for every 50 points earned on slots or video poker (maximum of $100 free play, one coupon per calendar year) at The D Las Vegas".

8000 quarter hands will take awhile...

I usually start it in the late afternoon and play for about 8 to 9 hours at the quarter level to get it knocked out, then get my free play the next morning when the slot club opens. So yeah, Tring is right it can take a while...

Yeah, and I play a little slower as well, probably 4-500 hands an hour tops. I'll probably play a few thousand hands on the quarter progressives and knock the rest out on dollar machines.

There is also the same coupon in the LVA. "$5 in free play for every 50 points earned on slots or video poker (maximum of $100 free play, one coupon per calendar year) at The D Las Vegas".

So you do the ACG one day and the LVA the next.

Yeah, I thought about that Vegaslover, should have done it. If I go back later this year I'll probably get the LVA coupon list. As for the ACG coupon,it didnt' work out so good this trip. Down $700 to get the free $100 in play. lol. That's how it goes sometimes.
